Rue morgue gives coverage to the Presidential Monsters

Rue Morgue : Horror in Culture and Entertainment

This line is certainly getting some buzz. I think some folks here will be surprised at what legs this property might have.

    Thanks for the link, Sam...

Looking forward to a complete set of this line (and an excuse to pick up the latest Rue).

outside of a crappy economy and what distribution channel is used I can't see these figures being anything but successful.

The article mentions a smaller scale line being also slated for release. Does anyone have more information on the "mini figures?"

I'm surprised they weren't on display at SDCC, they remind me of the Tomland Mini Monsters and are similiar to superdeformed figures.

Pics from toy fair. With Toy Tokyo involved, I wonder if these are going to be going the blind box art toy route. Did TRU pick up the mini monsters as well? I can see them doing the bobble heads with these eventually.

Thanks for posting these photos guys. They are indeed reminiscent of the Tomland mini monsters. I hope they have at least neck and shoulder articulation.

When pictures from SDCC were posted, there was another figure that I assumed was part of this line. It was the white one that kinda looked like George Washington as a ghost...? With a clear removable face, and the skeletal face behind the clear mask. There were also pictures of Barac wearing the white outfit, which I assumed was the outfit for the Washington head. I don't see it as part of this line in the Rue Morgue pics. Does anyone know what that fig is/was? A different line? Wave 2 maybe? I really like it and hope it's part of this line, or at least an official figure that will be released soon.....

Yep- that's it! Thanks Palitoy. So is "Spirit of 76" the name of just this figure, or part of the Presidential Monsters line, or is it a different line all together?

It's part of the Presidential Monsters series, if the first one does well, you can expect a wave 2. Some of it is VERY clever.

This one wasn't sculpted by my friend Sean, it was done by the artist who did the original Obama and Barakula.
