    My CTVT Body Fix

I recently bought these 2 CTVT bodies and as you can see the one on the right NEEDS to go to the bathroom. His legs can't be seperated so I "fixed" him and thought I'd share the process - it's a little different from the one on the Museum web site. I hope this is of some help, I've found it to work well.

Cut out and remove all the elastic - be carfull as you can break the hip joint peg - as I did on his left leg. Don't worry this can be repaired.

Take the hardware from the arms.

And make a new arm loop.

Take the other piece of are hardware and bend over the flat part ( requires 2 needle nose pliers ) and flatten the loop a little bit.

This makes a good hip joint replacement.

I use Round Cord Elastic, about 22 inches long and doubled over - then thread the hips.

Tie it off, not too tight.

    Thread the arms.

Then out the neck and tie tight.

He can now stand quite well, sit, and is very poseable.

yeah - my favorite fix for the DM bodies as well. the old T1 restring trick. The DM (and 7th street) bicep connector loop seemed to tear on any of the Trek/Aoe bodies my son was playing with, so I started to just restring them ala T1 right outta the box. Haven't had one break since.

Doubling the elastic isa great idea. Simple yet genius. Also never considered tying a knot between the leg/ pelvis and upper body connection. Good variation on the CTVT body fix. Good thing there is as many fixes to these bodies as there are faults in the original product.

I know this is an old post, but it bears refreshing. Great fix!
