Just struck me as odd. Of all the figure lines, playsets and vehicles produced in the 8' format, LJN really had the best realized "world".
Swat had the playset and Van, Rookies had the police car, Emergency had the Fire station and Rescue truck. With all of the figures, that would have been one hellacious 911 response team. Add in Mego's CHiPs and Batman and you have a darn good Gotham City.

Real good point. i loved my swat and emergency figures when i was a kid. i even had a cool dune buggy that the emergency guys rode in.

Yeah, as a kid I always had Emergency and Swat figures to go with my Megos. It seemed sacrilege not to have a standard Emergency service team at the standby when my heroes got hurt. Of course, sometimes it was the heroes saving the emergency team. Great memories and a great line.

All they needed was an EMT line, complete with paramedics and ambulance, then you'd be set.

Of course, you'd also need an ER set, a doctor on call, ER nurse, officious receptionist, etc.

That is a good point. When any of those are mentioned I just lump them in with mego, which is really unfair. LJN really did an amazing job with all the human likness sculpts of these as well.

I think if LJN didnt make those accessories. Some other company would have grabbed that market, Kept it loose enough as to not interfere with the licencing and made a fortune without having to pay "Emergency" or "The Rookies" a dime.
