Just got a British Action Man 8"

Just got a Playing Mantis Action Man from the UK today.

His markings read "copyright 1999, Playing Mantis, Made in China."

The figure is very articulated, kinda like G.I. Joe.

The head is solid plastic, and is attached with an elastic loop through the neck.

He is fully dressed in what looks like a black Navy Seal outfit, complete with a black leather like belt and plastic buckle. There's a pistol in the right pocket, and he came with a small (REAL small) duffel bag, complete with weapons.

Weapons included, two pistols, one knife, a pair of dark glasses, a pair of binoculars and a teeny black camera; all ensconced in a teeny black bag.

His face isn't as pretty as some of the Mego sculpts were, but he's not bugly either.

He'll need a smidge of cleaning, but is in otherwise good to fair condition.

It was released in the US by Playing Mantis as Action Jackson. I think there are three different in the set.
You are a bold and courageous person, afraid of nothing. High on a hill top near your home, there stands a dilapidated old mansion. Some say the place is haunted, but you don't believe in such myths. One dark and stormy night, a light appears in the topmost window in the tower of the old house. You decide to investigate... and you never return...

He came loose, so I have no idea.

He's way better looking than the original Action Jackson, though.

They fall apart fairly easy, so be careful, Jaida. Mine did without any play at all, so all his stuff is on a CTVT figure with a Bruce Wayne repro head. I also have WW2 Ranger figure that I purchased at the same time, and he still seems fine for now.

I have one of these on a card that I won off of eBay, plus a WW2 Ranger outfit. The outfit and equipment look great, but I'm afraid to open it up if it'll just fall apart.
"It's sad that governments are chiefed by the double tongues. There is iron in your words of death for all Comanche to see, and so there is iron in your words of life. No signed paper can hold the iron. It must come from men. The words of Ten Bears carries the same iron of life and death. It is good that warriors such as we meet in the struggle of life... or death. It shall be life."

I got all three from the bay at a really low cheap price and immediately removed the bodies and gave them to Tony aka Trappy. Didn't like the bodies one bit and plan on re-purposing the items as fodder for other customs.
I thought there were 4 in the series with the 4th being a paratrooper but never seen one.

The heads on mine are rotocast, just really stiff. Boil it if you're curious, yours might be too.

I like these guys. I bought all of them at one point, and I still have the diver outfit on my custom Action Boy/Kid Action/Action Teen. I used one of the bodies for a custom, but I restrung it with cord elastic. I'd love to get some more of these some day.

I picked up the covert op specialist recently as well. used the body for a Super joe head transplant. the rubber bands the body is strung with are very thin and I can see them breaking apart very easily but for display purposes it works. had to dremel down the neck stem a bit and then drill the hole in the SJ head a bit wider to fit but looks good. the AJ comes with a lot of cool, detailed accessories too

I got that scuba suit in a ebay lot and could never figure out where it came from. Oh, Mego Museum source of wisdom and joy!

I have all 3 and thought, with the exception of a worthless body, they were very well done. The suits were amazing and so were all the accessories.
