Not bad but not great The S is wrong

    GREAT catch !!!
    I totally missed missed that.
I forgot Jorel's S style was a nod to the old George Reeves B&W days.

      and the new one?
looks like a copy of Routh's to me----putting it in synch with the current
franchise---seems like they skipped the notion of the Donner JOR-EL entirely
      in that regard.

The Hot Toy's Jor-El appears to have the standard "S" shield you see on most licensing. Routh's "S" is quite different from that. It's wider and shorter, and the top is more rounded.

Of course, Reeve's Superman symbol wasn't exactly like the standard "S" either. The tip of the S has a diagonal slant, and the curves are more round.

Well if i'm correct, when Reeves' show went into colour, DC purposefully changed his S to reflect the current comic version.
So the show (the B&W series) was different than what was presented in comics.
But, it was still nice to see the WEIRD S appear on Jorels suit.

          Edited to add
Kirk Alyn's S was very similiar to Georges B&W S.......

Yes Chris---now that you mention it---I see the proportions are a bit
different than the SR "S"---more "traditional"---I guess it was the
overall smaller size of Hot Toys' Jor-el's symbol that made me think "Routh"

I got the Superman from HotToys but was very disappointed with the actual product compared to the pictures before it was produced...sold it again a week later...

Here's a nice review. They worked the kinks out and gave Jor-El a much better suit...and white shoes.

Superman/Clark Kent and Jor-El action figure - Another Pop Culture Collectible Review by Michael Crawford, Captain Toy

I'm REALLY tempted by these. If only they'd make a Reeve Superman...
