Heroes in Action President Obama review

Here is a quick review of the new Heroes in Action President Obama figure.

Obama appears to have a new body. Its stamped Heroes in Action on the back. Unfortunately, he stands a bit tall compared to a Mego. I measured him at about 8 1/2 inches with his shoes on. The body feels very solid and has nice tight joints. It doesn't use rubber bands to hold the limbs on, but is more like a Famous Cover body. He has quite a bit of articulation. I didn't take his clothes all the way off, so I didn't count the points, but he does appear to have swivel biceps along with the usual Mego articulation.

I didn't take his head off, but it doesn't use the Mego style of head. It can both turn from side to side and nod up and down. The head is solid and hold very sharp details. The hand look nice. On mine, the right hand's thumb is more opened than the left. Look like it could hold an accessory, but none came with the figure.

The suit is very nice. The stitching and details are excellent! They used velcro to make the clothing removable. However, its very thin velcro that doesn't seem to snag on the cloth.

The tie is a separate piece with a stretchy loop to hold it on. The shoes slip off and have a different shape for the left and right side. The pants have a small piece of velcro on the fly. The shirt has nice small buttons and is also held together with velcro on the front. The jacket has a small piece of velcro to keep it shut.

Overall, its a very nice figure and excellent clothing. He is well proportioned and looks sharp.

      Nice review and pics!!

Too bad the figure is not a true 8" (or 9" scale for that matter) though...

I was thinking....why enter the 8" market with a figure that is not quite in scale with a normal 8" Mego? Even Megos tend to be shy of the actual 8" mark so 8 1/2 inches is a little big by those standards.

It probably has to do with the next line coming, I think the characters are supposed to be tall and kind of a universe unto themselves.

          Is that eclectorama's travelling Spock?

Yeah, I'm pretty sure that's where this is going. I've been seeing stuff for the other line for a long time but the Obama concept happened much quicker.

This figure falls under the "who cares?" category for me. Sorry.

Wow, really dwarfs Megos. Not interested in political figures or figures not in true Mego scale. Two strikes against it for me.
You are a bold and courageous person, afraid of nothing. High on a hill top near your home, there stands a dilapidated old mansion. Some say the place is haunted, but you don't believe in such myths. One dark and stormy night, a light appears in the topmost window in the tower of the old house. You decide to investigate... and you never return...

Got mine. Liked it. Didn't notice the size variation until I saw these pics. great suit. Lots of velcro to hold things in place. Shirt, pants, tie. The sculpt isn't perfect, but it ain't bad. Worth picking up for sure. Just my 2 cents.

Same here. And if the scale stays the same for future projects the figures will have to be damn good for me to get them

You couldn't pay me to own that figure, let alone display it in my home.
