Looking for CTVT Space: 1999 figures

you might try m&j variety on the net, type in mego. Mego type toy's come up, well, CTV's really. but you can get sets real cheap.

That's interesting - I've bookmarked them for later. They're still more expensive than buying direct from ctvt, but they may come up with knock-off mego-likes, which I'm kind of into ...just got an excellent Magnificent Wrestler luchador fig off the bay and I see M&J has an Andre the Giant in case I ever make an Andy Kaufman mego.

Yea, I wasn't sure what ctv still had. The sets I orderd from M&J, were cheaper at the time, this was before ctv, really stopped making them and before emce came out with the star trek repro's. I can say this, certain parts were missing from a couple figures and When I contacted them by phone, M&J sent them ou right away with no cost to me. I actually got the munsters from scary monsters magazine, they had an ad (just like Fm's old captain company) and I think they were a little cheaper than what ctv had them for when they had just come out. It's nice to know all the options on where to get them. It's Good info to have for any of these type figures.

Since CTVT is so cheap, I'll buy several so that I can make my own "variants". I have a Paul Morrow in the standard red-sleeve outfit and I have in the orange space suit. I Also have an Alan Carter in his red space-suit and his yellow-sleeve outfit.

I have a loose Koenig if anyone is looking to buy one. He comes with no clothes but his head looks great. I'm not looking to get rich off of it like those selling them on evilbay though I am not going to give it away either

CONGRATS for jumping on that, Captact..!!!

I'm inches away from posting pics of my vintage Koenig and Carter in the space suits, but I just got the Bergman figure in (standard outfit) and with Dave Mc's head, he'll look much better than the head he comes with, just need to make a new belt for 'em.

They're not done yet, but I'll try to take a pic of the group tonight.

Remember, you CAN'T have a primo 1999 collection without a Koenig. Just make sure all the figs are in vintage bodies.. The CTVT bodies are terrible for posing.

Blame AcroRay for the great 1999 hints ~ He posted his vintage Alan Carter a few weeks back and it just rocks. He gave some super hints on getting the space packs off, and I followed up with my tips.

Hey.., by the way.. if anyone needs a good laugh...:

Grab one of those Mattel Victor Bergman heads and put it on a bulked up Famous Cover's body..

You'll burst out laughing, trust me. Space:1999 EXTREME

It'll make him look like he's been bench-pressing Eagles all morning...!

'Course knowing that, I'm sure someone'll try and market it.. It even made my wife laugh.

I still have LOTS of custom work to do here, but here's a prelim picture of my trio..



Koenig's slinging an Alphan laser rifle, it isn't all that accurate, but looks cool on 'em. I still need to work on the suit collars, Victor needs a more correct Year 1 belt and Commlock, plus I need to change Alan's life-support pack number. At least he's got a stungun holster, also needing work.
