I can honestly say that the Commander X figure is one of my all time favorite Mego-style figures. If I had seen it hanging on the pegs back in '74, I would have bought it. I love the basic simplicity of the figure, it really looks great in person. This is a great example of how to make a great figure without having to pony up the big bucks for licensing fees. I hope those variants are available soon.
