Marvel Signature series Mr Fantastic at KB toys

I was in KB Toys tonight and they had a @20 of the Mr. Fantasic figures and a bunch of the Cyclops for 7.98. He looks pretty cool. No sign on the Torch though.

Can somebody hook me up with a few Mr. F's? I have no KB's around.

Yeah, I checked the KB next to me and their in. BUT be warned there is a factory defect on the arms. When I pulled mine out, the tab connecting the rubber piece of the arm to the plastic forearm snapped without hardly any effort. I repaired it by drilling out the peg and putting a screw in, using the head of the screw inside the rubber portion which allows it to rotate nicely.

Here's a shot of the break...

That's a widespread defect, too. I'm going to try the one KB outlet in Orlando.

I was checking out the box today and I noticed the release date at the bottom indicates 2007. Given the circumstances surrounding this figure, I wonder if it was, in fact, produced last year then sat in a warehouse while Hasbro decided what to do with it. With the abruptness of it's release and the minimal cost to buy, I have to believe they are simply unloading their existing stock and that will be it. Should be interesting to see if the Torch comes next. This is very similar to how the Sandman came out. I think this figure could be a collector's item somewhere down the road. It's unique.

Thunderbolt is correct. I picked me up a few more and open another one just to check the arm - Sure enough, the right arm was broken on that one too. I'm beginning to think this was a production defect and why they never went out. It would also explain why their selling them at half the normal cost for a new Signature Series figure. That's a shame.

Got mine Saturday. Left it in the package.

If I find another one I will open it and probably dissect it. LOL

Hey, maybe for the next release they will just release them directly to yard sales and swap meets. Fingers crossed.

KB toys are like Rhinos, I know they exist, but I'd still be surprised to find one in Indiana.

I'm actually kind of glad that Mr. F has that kind of defect. He isn't my favorite character and I got a charge out of tearing him apart and putting him back together. I think I actually enjoyed it MORE than if I would have just bought him and put him in the old display case.

                            I don't do enough customs.

Superglueing the arm back in place fixes the problem easy since Hasbro put a redundant joint in the arm. It will still have the same swivel motion its supposed to have. BTW, I stripped one for a custom and the arm is attached with screws, so its easy to remove it and redress the figure.
