It appears the knee issue has not been resolved. Darn.

"Hey there's a problem, please fix it."
Factory: "Oh sure, no problem!"
Next shipment still has problem.
"Hey there's still a problem and we asked you fix it last time!"
Factory: "Oh sure, no problem!"
Next shipment still has problem.
"HEY!!..."
...and on and on.
The good news is people have reported seeing the variants on the shelf in a CA Big Lots this weekend, so things are happening.Expectation is the death of discovery.Comment

I'm not sure it's the Factory's fault.
I mean, it could be, but in my opinion, Mego is blowing through the backstock of the old body since they paid for it and don't want it to go to waste.
Just a hunch based on literally everything they've done since they've returned. They're still very much a low margin operation. I feel the majority of their budget goes to acquiring short term licenses.
Since the bodies are uniform for the most part their tooling budget is for the heads and accessories, and there's a budget for the outfits. It's a pretty smart business model to keep costs low, and maintain a general overall quality.
You always know what you're getting with a Mego. But if you have a backstock of bodies, it just makes sense from a business standpoint to exhaust that supply before rolling out any changes. Which I believe is the case here. And I honestly don't blame them if that is the case. If they paid for X number of bodies, it makes no sense to scrap them in order to make way for a change in tooling. But I also believe the change is being made, and we should see it soon.
Despite any issues I may have with the company, when they say they're gonna fix a problem, they always do. It just takes time. And they still put out a quality product worth buying. Where else are you gonna get a figure like that for the price?
I just wish they'd refrain from giving us unrealistic expectations for release dates. They told us at Mego Meet that these would be on shelves September 20th,Last edited by B-Lister; Oct 29, '23, 4:04 PM.Looking for Green Arrow accessories, Doctor Who Sonic Screwdriver, and Japanese Popy Megos (Battle Cossack and France, Battle of the Planets, Kamen Rider, Ultraman) and World Heroes figuresComment

No luck at the Big Lots near the con today, but the staff was in process of clearing out Halloween stuff and setting up new displays, including starting to put toy displays up at the front of the store, so I'll check again mid-week.

No Mego yet at the store that I checked yesterday. The Toy section is still really small and has a lot of cheap knock off looking stuff . Not the best choice of stores for new stuff since a lot of their supply is clearanced out products from Target, and othersComment

I mean, we were told September 20, so I'm not surprised the second date was a massive L as well.Looking for Green Arrow accessories, Doctor Who Sonic Screwdriver, and Japanese Popy Megos (Battle Cossack and France, Battle of the Planets, Kamen Rider, Ultraman) and World Heroes figuresComment
