Anybody else obsessively checking Big Lots?

There's a Big Lots about 15 minutes from me, but on the rare times I go there it's always a mess. And getting exclusives from any retailer in my area in South Jersey is nearly impossible. I think there's just too many collectors/scalpers in the area. When I do look for a pop culture item, exclusive or otherwise, I feel stupid for stopping by the store because it's almost always a waste of time.

I hope Big Lots sells a ton of the exclusives and real collectors love them, but I'm not going to spend time looking in the stores.

Meijer is a tough one for me too. Closest one is in Ohio, and I am at least three hours away. Messed me up on the recent exclusive Funko Fairly OddParents POP! set that I wanted.

Otherwise, I am in decent shape these days. My area have Targets, which we did not when the Hasbro DC 9" figures first hit. We have a Costco in the area. Of course Walmarts, plenty of Walgreens, a few Barnes & Nobles. Even CVS, which was great when they had the Playing Mantis holiday Peanuts figures. It doesn't mean I always find exclusives, but at least I have a shot.

And even though I was aware we had them, I did not realize HOW many Big Lots I have in my area. So if they get these Mego exclusives in, I will have a good shot at finding them. And I am right on the Canadian border, so there is always Walmart in Canada too.

I have no desire for these exclusive Megos. But I did go to my local Big Lots on Labor Day and didn't see them.

I checked a third big lots by me yesterday, nothing yet.

I checked my local one. There's another one nearby, but out of the way. I don't think I'll hit that one until we get confirmed sightings.

I plan to check once a week on my way to work. Leave fifteen minutes early. After the first sighting reported I can check every day lol. Then the second store after I drop my son off at school

Probably gonna check this afternoon. They said it should be the 20th, and we're close enough to that that we should be hearing reports soon.

I checked this afternoon. No sign of 'em. Likely won't get another opportunity until Monday or Tuesday.

Nothing at my local BL. Not surprised, as the store is definitely lower tier, even for them.

I checked at mine this past Monday and they had nothing. I talked to one of the department managers and they hadn't heard anything about it, but told me they had a truck coming in Thursday (today) but with staffing issues it sometimes takes them a week or two to get things out on the floor once the truck arrives (they were still putting stuff out form the previous two trucks when I was there Monday). He also said they never know if they are getting the exclusives, so I might want to check the website/online store. I haven't checked there yet, but I plan to stop in tomorrow at out local one to see if they have anything yet again, since the truck was today. If not, I will look at the website and see what I can find, if anything.

PS I also asked 3 different employees if an exclusive like that has a specific area where it would be put out for sale or if it would be in the toy aisle, since they had a separate shelving unit out inthe middle of the store with pop culture toys, t-shirts and merch separate from the toy aisle, but not a one could give me an answer and just shrugged off the question, so I'm not sure anyone at the store level knows anything about this.

Checked the Big Lots site tonight, no results when I searched for Mego and nothing under new toy arrivals or action figures, nothing came up on searches for Batman, Superman or Joker either, so not sure that will be a viable option for getting the exclusives.

There appears to be between 65-70 units of each still available on line. The stock keeps dropping on Stocktrack.ca so people are ordering them

I might check some Big Lots this weekend, but I ordered a second set from Walmart.ca for pickup. I am not sure my first order on Walmart.ca went through, although I was charged for it this past week. The second order shows up in my account history and is supposed to arrive for pickup the first week of October. After the exchange rate, I save about $16 buying them from Canada.
