Mego 50th Joker with FTC clothes and other late to the party comments.

I never saw the hero wave in stores but I just did recently find the villains wave minus Reverse Flash.

Like everyone has said before the range of motion at the knees isn't great. Penguin can also not bend at the hips enough to sit. Other than that the new bodies are really nice. The heads look great. Way better than
the Figures sculpts. You don't realize how off the Figures heads are until you see them side by side.

The Joker's suit isn't great. The fabric on the jacket is very thin, the tails are unhemmed, sleeves are too short and the silk-screened tie looks like a giant squished spider. Where FTC beats Mego is the Joker's outfit. Much nicer.

I may also swap out Batman's cape. The blue/grey looks pre-faded and doesn't match the vibrant bright blue of the gloves, boots and cowl. I'm also not crazy about the "7" shaped question mark on Riddler. I know it's a valid variation, just one I've never been a big fan of.

Overall, they look really nice, the quality is very good and the price is more than reasonable. I probably paid less for these than the FTC ones I got around 10 years ago.
You are a bold and courageous person, afraid of nothing. High on a hill top near your home, there stands a dilapidated old mansion. Some say the place is haunted, but you don't believe in such myths. One dark and stormy night, a light appears in the topmost window in the tower of the old house. You decide to investigate... and you never return...

Joker looks really good with the swapped out costume.

I felt the same as you do about Batman's cape. I changed the cape on my 50th Batman to a vinyl one from FTC because that's what my RC Batman had when I was a kid.

Just swapped the cape from my FTC Bats. I like this a lot better. It's a beautiful color match with the cowl.

I Forgot to mention, I really like that they molded the Joker's body in white. Huge improvement.

Both these figures look great, and I think it’s neat that 50th Joker’s body is all white.

Good stuff! I love how we can mix and match to get close to exactly what we want. I will have to look at the Batman capes more closely to see if I want to make a swap.

And I agree on the heads. I always knew FTC Robin's head was too narrow. But after comparing the FTC and Mego 50th Bruce Wayne heads, what a difference! I am thinking of taking an extra Batman and Robin and adding real gloves too. FTC did make a nice Green Arrow repro head though.

I haven't opened any villains' yet.

Yeah, they are fine as is. You don't really need to fix anything. But it is fun to be able to swap parts to get exactly the look you want.

One thing I would have liked Mego to have done differently is the paper stickers. Didn't like them then and don't like them now. The sticker on my Superman is already lifting up. If you are going to use stickers use the fabric ones. It's not like they are an exact 1 to 1 reissue of the T1 figures anyways.

                      Stickers.

I spent half my '70's playtime smoothing them down with my thumb and the other half drawing new ones for my cousin, who casually murdered every figure ever produced by Mego and LJN. (Johnny Gage, Roy Desoto and the entire Rookies line went to Action Figure Valhalla in less than an hour, right in front of my eyes! Oh, the horror! If they had let me, I could have rebuilt them. I had the technology!)

Wasn't thrilled about stickers on the new ones until I realized this makes them super easy to customize. I'm actually kind of okay with it now.

I don't mind the paper stickers but the knee thing is a real shame.

Found Reverse Flash today. Aside from the chest sticker, which was already peeling in the box, the figure could have easily been in the modern DC line. Doesn't quite fit with the other villains in the wave.

Somehow, I do think they did a better job with Flash and Green Lantern, but I can't exactly explain why. He's the flash with a different paint job, but he has a modern-ish vibe. It might be because I connect him mostly with Flashpoint and other modern story lines.

Just got Aquaman. He is really nice. One odd little thing is just like all the others his arms are twisted around at the elbows and I mean every single one so far has been like this. We know to check but not every impulse nostalgia buyer might think to and bust some elbows trying to bend the arms.
