So what happened with TOPPS Green Arrow?

Folks are starting to receive them, and the issue with the hands wasn't corrected, the eyes are wrong, and the belt is different.

Mego said the figure would indeed have green hands, and they painted the pupils for some reason.

The one on the right is the prototype?

He looks better than the finished product!

The belt on the prototype is the same but the "G" is photoshopped on.

so with the hands, is the issue that they just haven't produced colored hands yet for the new body?

The arrows on the prototype are also green, and not brown like the final product.

This is nothing new. Prototypes and final figures often have variances like this. Hardly anything to be alarmed about. Ever see Mego's prototypes from the 70's or the Diamond Select Monster prototypes? If the eyes and hands bug ya, paint them. C'mon guys, stop fishing and enjoy your toys.

I agree that the prototype looks better than the finished product, but overall it looks very nice. I think I'm going to swap the outfit over to an extra Mattel GA figure and that will take care of the hands and eyes for me.

Prototype looked really cool. Finished product reminds me of those pajamas you could get as a kid to “look like” your favorite superhero.

I like the green hands and white eyes of the prototype, but I cannot lie, when I saw the production preview here, it still looked good to me.

The in-hand picture from Facebook is not a great picture, so I am hoping what I get looks more like the preview above. If that's the case, I will be happy and satisfied with my GA.

I'll put some pictures up later, but my first impression is a bit of disappointment. The eyes and hands have already been discussed and have fairly simple fixes, but the biggest letdown is the new body. The waist joint is EXTREMELY loose and it's difficult for the figure to maintain a standing position. I wonder if the large gap between the chest and pelvis pieces was an attempt to add a bit of height? The suit is very baggy although I don't think this version was ever depicted in the comics as skin tight anyway. I'll be swapping the suit over to an extra Mattel Green Arrow which will take care of all my issues with it.

I don't know if they all are, but in my case, the Mattel GA body is tighter and can hold a pose better.

I was about to post that I don't see any issues with the figure, before realizing that you made the swap.

Well... it certainly looks good after the swap!

I think my tastes align closely with yours, Krypt0nite, so I am a little nervous, but I will keep my fingers crossed that at least the body is on the non-looser side, like my G.I. Joes, especially Snake-Eyes..

I just happened to have an extra Mattel GA that I found at a consignment store recently for $1.50, so this was a very easy choice for me. I think that stuffing some cotton into the waist gap on the new figure would be a quick and easy fix to give it more stability.
