^Oh, that's the rational response. And one I would have if it bothers me enough (which it probably won't). But other, less...sane people will lose their crap. They've gone homicidal over less.

Mego generates so many more 8 inch characters today than they ever did in the 70's. If you've collected every single figure made since 2018, you're talking about a serious haul of figures. But it seems like as soon as a new batch hits, talk is already on to the next series. There doesn't seem to be a pocket for fans to sit in and just enjoy what is current. Unfortunately speculation has become the poison of this hobby. If I had a dollar for every time I reacted to something I saw in a photo, only to get an opposite feeling upon seeing it in person, I probably could have retired a looooong time ago. I hope most of us can just enjoy the new ones that are out and let the next batch speak for themselves when they arrive. Its never a bad time to enjoy what you have amassed around you. (;

Well if you only like classic monsters or ultra man or superheroes then you get a couple out of the wave and then look ahead. Sometimes talk about prototypes for whatever catches issues and sometimes not. I’m still annoyed by the pained body on the Bride and Mego not wanting to make it right like they did for the Trek figure they did like that.

Absolutely. Looking ahead or talking about current or past releases is the currency of collecting. But it feels like people get so consumed about the next thing, they're talked out by the time it hits online or in brick and mortar stores. And all that worrying over something that may not come to pass from looking at a photo was just wasted time that turns into new speculation for the next wave.

I felt like bringing this up because there's been allot of talk about the general mood of this hobby lately and I feel like a little bit of that could be predicated off this conditioning of always looking ahead instead of looking around at what we have. And I don't mean that as a "we should be grateful" statement either. I'm just saying if you bought something (even if its just a couple of figures) from the latest wave, isn't that food for a good conversation? Again, I get the need for shop talk, but we also use to have allot of talk about what we loved IN our collections. I use to post extensive pics of new figures I get, but the response is so very minimal (compared to those who read it and move on), that it feels like it just goes out into the void. Just an observation.

I think the looking ahead has been going on for a very long time in the toy collecting world. I don't think it's a new phenomenon and I catch myself when I see myself falling into it too, usually by looking at all the crap I have still in boxes or stored that should be on a shelf somewhere, being enjoyed. It's usually a lack of space, or looking forward to the next release that causes that for me, and that's when I pull back.

As for that last part, I get what you are saying, but PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE people, post pictures! I really miss that and it never seemed to be as big a thing, posting loose pictures of new toys, as it is (or was; I don't go to many toy boards these days) in other parts of the hobby. I always found it disappointing and frustrating when FTC was dropping so much stuff and all we barely saw any posts with pictures. That's why I try to post pictures when I get new stuff, particularly FTC stuff because in hand items seemed scare online, but I love looking at pictures of all the Mego style figures. Sometimes it gets me to buy something I was on the fence about, and sometimes it becomes a hard NO! It's disappointing when you see over 100 views and no comments, but I hope I helped some of those that viewed the post by seeing the product in hand.

The little bit of shortness won't bother me if Taylor is on the old style body and Brent on the new body, because James Franciscus was shorter than Charlton Heston anyway...

Robin is taller than Shazam or Green Arrow. The original Mego Hulk was smaller than the other Megos and this sucked too.
