    Top three favorites from 2021?

As the year comes to a close, Mego has had one great figure after another.

So many offerings like the new Captain Kirk, General Ursus, Willy Wonka, Teen Wolf, Ultraman...it was hard to narrow it down to just three.

But in the end, I had to go with first time Hammer Dracula, the amazing Lt. Commander Data, and the Karloff Frankenstein with his (finally) jaundiced skin tone and black jacket, making Mego the first company to get it right!

    What are your top three?

    Great photography as always.

I think my favorites this year are Van Helsing and 14" Capt. Marvel. I only bought the first Ultrman, but he's great, too.
WANTED: Dick Grayson SI trousers; gray AJ Mustang horse; vintage RC Batman (Bruce Wayne) head; minty Wolfman tights; mint Black Knight sword; minty Launcelot boots; Lion Rock (pale) Dracula & Mummy heads; Lion Rock Franky squared boots; Wayne Foundation blue furniture; Flash Gordon/Ming (10") unbroken holsters; CHiPs gloved arms; POTA T2 tan body; CTVT/vintage Friar Tuck robes, BBP TZ Burgess Meredith glasses.

That’s a great list, and hard to argue, as those were all fantastic sculpts. I’d replace the Lee Dracula with the Cushing Van Helsing. It is maybe my favorite release ever from Mego since it relaunched. It has a great likeness, but is still soft enough to give it a very toyetic look.

The new Kirk was done in a similar vein, and is something I hope to see more of. Hyper realistic was not and should not be Mego’s forte, in my opinion.

                  In no particular order:

Son of Frankenstein (the costuming edges out his predecessor)

Captain Kirk (improved in every way over the original)

                  Flash (great sculpt and costume)

                  Runner up:

Robin (fantastic update of the original)

Decades in the making and spoiled rotten fun do it for me: I. Ursus / II. Hammer Drac / III. Karloff Franks

Agreed, such a good run we've had with Caesar, Ultraman, Van Helsing, Wonka… too!

Ultraman, Van Helsing and if I shrank his melon Chris Lee Dracula. I really want to like Son of Frankenstein Monster but something bugs me about it. And the Bride gets a DQ due to the shortcut painted body that Mego won't warranty out like they did for other factory fails
