Acknowledgement to ZLC! for excellent customer service!
^^ It is, in all their overly flexible and short glory! Good until Doc hooks us up with the proper replacements.
I think the real win with these Soldier Apes, is that the head is not an exact copy of the vintage original. In fact, it's larger and has a bit of different expression in its 2nd gen morph, making it unique and interesting. Looking forward to stripping the paint on off one too.

Chris at ZLC is always very communicative and a pleasure to deal with every time I place an order or have a question. He is a true credit to the toy collecting community.

It's not a copy of the soldier ape, but it is an exact copy of an original Mego head, just painted differently.
^^ Negative! It's a recast of the non-helmet General Urko/Ursus vintage head, but it's not exact. In in a general sense, it's been widened, most noticeable in larger dimensions including the snout. This distortion results in something that looks fairly unique/new.

Doc Mego said it was just a copy of the original head.
^^ Exactly. Regardless of using a vintage sculpt, the new process incurs changes including softening of features, warping, and small changes in scale which all contribute to making the new casts look different. In this case, all I'm saying is that it's a benefit and no one is contradicting Doc. Now, if only someone can warp shift voodoo these little rifles!

I highly second this!! If it weren't for Chris and ZLC, I would have given up on hunting for new Mego, after wave 7. If I buy new Mego product, it is only through ZLC.
