I just want to vent a little, and hopefully gain some insight into the distribution angle of Mego products.
None of my local Walmarts are on "The List", and so far no product has suddenly appeared at any of them (electronics section, front of store collectibles area, toy section, or random end caps). My local Targets have no Mego figures at all, except one which still has several Facts & Charlie's displayed on an endcap for regular price of $12.99, despite the well worn cards. And none of our local comic shops carry them (Yep! We still have three of those around us).
For this reason, I pre-ordered several figures from Entertainment Earth, despite the rate increase. I ordered a few Franks, a couple Teen Wolfs, a Drac and an Ultra 7. They shipped the Teens and the Ultra, and placed the Franks & Drac on back order status. This increased my price dramatically as the shipping expense was then doubled, perhaps even to be tripled down the line.
I decided to also give Big Bad Toy Store a shot, since I was given a heads up about the flat rate shipping and the "Pile of Loot" option. I pre-ordered many different figures, some of them in multiples. To date, none of them have left pre-order status on their site even though many of these figures are readily available online elsewhere.
In the meantime, Franks, Brides and Dracs are all over eBay going for decent prices ($18-19 each, shipped in several cases). As such, I ordered several Franks, a Bride, a Drac and a Creeper, all for $18.99 each, shipped. UPS originally had my delivery date as today, but as of this morning it has been delayed until further notice due to "A mechanical failure has delayed delivery. We're working to resolve the problem and deliver your pkg as soon as possible." Just my luck...lol.
A few questions for those who have previously ordered from BBTS: Is this usual for them to be so far behind in the game?; Do they always follow through with their pre-orders, or do orders end up getting canceled because they oversold?
With Entertainment Earth, I'm frustrated with the breaking up of the order. I know they had Franks in stock at some point, because they had some non-mint ones offered up after my Teens & Ultra shipped. I wouldn't think that they would profit from splitting up the orders, but I don't understand the process. I did try calling them, but after 40 minutes of being on hold, I gave up.
Any insight would be appreciated!
