Can't the neck hole just be dremeled out to accept a Mego neck plug?

I put Mattel heads on a TypeS body I think. You could also put it on an original Mego, or Doc Mego body. You have to destroy the Mattel body to get the head off though, it won't just pull out. There is a hard plastic piece attached to the neck post.

I'd still go with the vintage Mego body. Too much work to alter the heads or the new bodies.

yep, need channel locks to crack open the chest to get the Mattel head off.

Yes, I just crush open the Matty bodies. I generally use vintage bodies for my customs, especially since I can get such good repro knee pins. I have a lot of parts.
WANTED: Dick Grayson SI trousers; gray AJ Mustang horse; vintage RC Batman (Bruce Wayne) head; minty Wolfman tights; mint Black Knight sword; minty Launcelot boots; Lion Rock (pale) Dracula & Mummy heads; Lion Rock Franky squared boots; Wayne Foundation blue furniture; Flash Gordon/Ming (10") unbroken holsters; CHiPs gloved arms; POTA T2 tan body; CTVT/vintage Friar Tuck robes, BBP TZ Burgess Meredith glasses.

Agreed...I intentionally destroy the Mattel torsos, because the neckplugs will tear easily. I'd rather not risk damaging the head because that's all Mattel figures are good for(heads, hands, costumes and accessories).

Yeah Lonnie, she had asked about the new Mego 2.0 body specifically. SO that was the whole point really.

^ Exactly. I haven't opened any of the new Megos yet and just wondered if the headswap was possible. But now that I know it's more trouble than it's worth, I'll keep my new Megos intact if and when I open them. I'll source a vintage or FTC body for Lex or just leave him on the Mattel body.

When I took off the Luthor head from the Mattel body, I dip it in head first upside down in a cup of very hot water for about 1-2 minutes, it soften it up, then easily removed the head from the body.

I'll ask again, wouldn't it be easy enough to cut off the male neck part on the Mego 2.0 then dremel a hole to receive a classic Mego head?

Forwhat its worth ...the Playmates 9 inch heads seem to go on well if you can find the smaller sculpts. And it is a viable alternative for a vintage head with a ripped neckplug

But my question is, "Why?". Why add a vintage head from a superior body to a body that is inferior and needs to be altered?

Lonnie it was never about a vintage body. Never. It was about the Mattel retro action figures and using the head of a Mattel retro action figure and transplanting it to the mego 2.0 body. Removing the neck post and making a dremel hole is also a possibility.

Maybe you have just a head and want a nice new body for it, or like the OP wanted to put a Mattel Luthor head on a better body? The new Mego's are cheap enough to be used for customs, too.
