According to Doc, they used the original Richie Mego head sculpt for this figure. He also said that Ron Howard’s likeness wasn’t available.

Wait, what? So they used the original sculpt but painted it like crap? What's the point of making a Richie figure that doesn't look like Richie? Is that how this line is going to go? Just producing bootleg figures because the Happy Days rights they got didn't include Richie's likeness?

^ I’ll let you be upset about it. It doesn’t bother me. Frankly, in my opinion, he looks fine.

I have real problems. I don’t fret about toys. I just think that they’re fun to remember, to look at and to collect. When I was a child, they were fun to play with. That’s as far as it has ever went for me. But, to each his own.

The sculpt resembles Richie to the extent that the orginal did, which was marginal. The deco is not sloppy; it has, oddly, brownish hair as the original did. It's one thing to express concern about reissues or likeness rights, and quite another to call these bootlegs. They are licensed, after all.

To me, it doesn't. Check the nose, hairline, jaw.

This I will pick up this figure but I may change the head with an extra one I have from CTVToys.

It looks like the Richie head is off because the new inverted plug makes the neck wider. You really see it when comparing EMCE Frank to Mego Frank. While the soft vinyl on Mego Frank looks way better, the thickneck changes the features.

It's an odd trade. I like the mod as it protect the design of the originals, but there's an unintended side effect.
