RIB Mego Star Trek

RIP, as a member said elsewhere.

Emce Trek, followed by Target, was exciting for TOS fans. I always held out hope that we'd get, bit by bit, Bradys and others to "finish" the line.

Fans seemed to consistently clamor for Chapel, Rand, Kirk as Romulan, Female Romulan Commander, Sarak & Amanda, Trelane, Harry Mudd, and Tellerite. I know I wanted some of those very badly.

I don't feel entitled to more Trek Mego of course, but the loss of the license truly saddens me.

What's next, no Hawkman? *sigh*

I know that admitting the license is expiring looks super bleak. However, contracts do expire, especially with a corporate takeover. The same thing happened with the Apes license: Disney took over, and Mego would have to renegotiate.

Mego had a quiet year, and Diamond going bust probably hurt Trek the most, but I think if a retailer wants Star Trek, Mego will make it so.


Now, where are these ribs you promised?

it’s sad news. I quickly turned around and bought some Talosians and other figures that were on special on several sites to make certain I had some.

maybe in another 50 years Mego will make more …
