    Super Gals

What are the chances of Mego releasing the Super Gals now that the Invisible Woman has been released. I had Wonder Woman, Batgirl and Supergirl as a kid. And the heroes just feel wrong without Wonder woman. I was thinking of the FTC repro, but it sounds like they fall apart immediately.

So far all my FTC females are still in packages, have quite a few of them. Would not be able to say Yay or Nay on them.

They look amazing on the cards...

I've been asking about the Super Gals, in a gentle way, for a while and wondering the same thing (if a Sue Storm might signal the Super Gals, in the same way a Thing might solve for The Hulk...body wise). The Marvel license was solved and we got Sue.... and with the female body now seemingly solved, could we see the rest of the Gals in a 50th wave? DC characters were leading the way, only female bodies weren't being made.

There was a slight mention of the DC Gals being "on the way" almost two years ago...before the Marvel waves came into being, but that was the only mention I remember. Again... this was BEFORE the Marvel license and waves came into being. It seems to me, the existence of Sue means anything should be possible.
Thanks to our friend Frank @AbsolutelyRetro, we’ve got some shots of the Mego 2023 ToyFair booth and there is a lot to unpack starting with the Mego World’s Greatest Superheroes toy line. We see the promised upcoming wave of 50th Anniversary Mego World’s Greatest Superheroes decked out in their vintage-looking window boxes. As well, we…Read more →

Sue obviously isn't on a new bandless body. The Super Gals are supposed to be released on a bandless body. I wouldn't expect them to be released any time soon. That's how I understand the situation. I think Sue got pushed through because of Disney wanting the Fantastic Four to be released for the movie hype.

I didn't realize that key distinction about the bandless body. I was hoping we'd see these soon, but it sounds further off than I was reckoning. Thanks for shedding some light on that, Lonnie.

Wasn't there also a Black Canary prototype Mego displayed at one of the toy shows a couple years back (maybe when they announced the 50th anniversary figures?) Anyway, I was super excited to see that so I hope some Super Gals will eventually be on the way!

The FTC female figures don't fall apart (for the most part) or have the same issues as the male bodies. My biggest issues with them has been that they are strung too tight, making the head tilt and the torso go too hard to the left or right. It's very hard to get many of them to stand straight. I've had a few that were okay though. And on some you can play with it to find that sweet spot to make them stand straight and tall.

I don't recall if I ever tried a FTC female suit on a new Mego body (which has its' issues), but that might be an option too, if you just want to purchase the head and costume separately.

I didn't realize it was way back to 2020 when Mego teased us with Wonder Woman, Black Canary and Harley Quinn at Toyfair:
