    More Mego monsters!! (please)

So, a new/revised Hammer Dracula is forthcoming? Fantastic.

What other Hammer fiends might we see? Dr. Frankenstein, Curse of the Werewolf, Capt. Kronos, Baron Meister?

    And other monsters?

    -Teenage Frankenstein, Werewolf, Dracula

    -Hideous Sun Demon

    -Something Vincent Price--Dr. Phibes

    -War of the Gargantuas duo

    -Wishmaster Djinn

    -Darkman

What would you suggest? I'm assuming the Universal & Chaney licenses have expired.
WANTED: Dick Grayson SI trousers; gray AJ Mustang horse; vintage RC Batman (Bruce Wayne) head; minty Wolfman tights; mint Black Knight sword; minty Launcelot boots; Lion Rock (pale) Dracula & Mummy heads; Lion Rock Franky squared boots; Wayne Foundation blue furniture; Flash Gordon/Ming (10") unbroken holsters; CHiPs gloved arms; POTA T2 tan body; CTVT/vintage Friar Tuck robes, BBP TZ Burgess Meredith glasses.

I missed the news about a new Drac. Has a new wave been announced? I'd love more Universal, and a Son of Dracula would have been awesome. That being said, if they're done with Universal and are back to Hammer, then yes, the Werewolf has always been a needed figure. I'd love one. The monsters from Evil of Frankenstein/Monster from Hell would also be super cool.

There was in item in the newsletter about a 14" Lee Drac sculpt being resized and repurposed.

I kind of want another Hammer horror female figure--perhaps Pitt's Countess Dracula.

Just yesterday, I ordered the basic Hammer Frankenstein, which I believe will complete my collection of the Mego Hammer figures, other than the elusive Medusa (which I presume is called 'Medusa' instead of 'The Gorgon' because the license lapsed by the time that figure was released).

I can still remember the first time I saw the Christopher Lee Dracula figure in a local Target. I didn't know these figures were coming and was shocked and thrilled to see Mego doing Hammer. What were the chances, I thought to myself at the time, that Mego would spring back to life in this modern era, AND make licensed figures of fairly obscure (in America) British B-Movie monsters from the 1960s, AND that these would be sold at mass retail at Target in America in the 2020s. I still can't totally believe that that happened.

I'd definitely buy another Christopher Lee Dracula by Mego. Captain Kronos and Caroline Munro figures would also be amazing, as would an Oliver Reed werewolf.

If I have any critique of the existing Hammer figures by Mego, it would be that: (1) I can't get my Mummy figure to stand on its own and its articulation is extremely limited, and (2) while I think the Topps version of the Reptile is fantastic, the standard one in black dress looks so plain and the ink on that dress bleeds a little.

Medusa has a revised head sculpt and differently-colored gown for a generic mythic version. I'm not sure what happened with the Topps Hammer version--IIRC it was a licensing glitch...I thought it was IP rights, not expiration.

I would love to see more Mego Hammer monsters. I never did get the Lee Mummy, it’s out there on ebay, but from what I understand it has horrible joint articulation. I’m curious to know if anyone here ever got the Distinctive Dummies figures, and how they rate them?

Interesting! Thank you for clarifying. I'm American, but also an Anglophile engendered originally by watching Monty Python and many other British shows on PBS as a kid in the 1970s and 1980s on my family's lone TV in the living room after everyone else went to bed. I later lived and worked in London for a couple of years nearly 25 years ago. I mention this because my familiarity with Hammer is enthusiastic, but increasingly distant, as I first encountered their films on the Elvira show in the 1980s, and then many more when I lived in London. And now all of that is decades ago. So maybe that explains why I thought the 'Medusa' head sculpt looked exactly as my distant memory recalled the Gorgon. That's also very interesting about a clothes color change. Because reading that now caused me to reflect for the first time that I didn't remember seeing anything more than brief flashes of the Gorgon's head in the film. But like I said, it's now been decades since I saw it...
