Mego 50th Dr. Fate (Wave 18)

I took Dr. Fate out of the box which is a bit unusual for me as I’m a MIB guy when it comes to the 50th anniversary line. He’s quickly growing on me. I definitely underestimated him.

Yup....he is a great figure. That's y, crazy me, bought 4 of 'em. I just wish Mego move away from their problematic bodies. I had to transfer one of my Fates to a Type-S body. I decided to use a yellow CTVToys yellow cape instead...I think it looks better but with the slightly larger Type-S body I left the flesh color hands attached. The short sleeve made it very strange looking if yellow hands are in place.

Got my Fate this week and I agree: this might be the best one in this wave! I wasn't sure about the mix of gold & yellow either, but it really works. Visually I think he's simply perfect. I ordered another one to open and hope I won't be too disappointed by the body. Because the Fate I've got already looks like he might have a broken knee. Mego should definitely adress this kind of issue to make this line of figures a perfect experience. In terms of visual design they're already there IMO.

I finally gave up trying to find one in the wild and broke down and ordered one from Amazon to take advantage of sales tax exempt week here in Ohio.
