Well, I guess this is what Hawkman's wings will look like....

I get the idea behind the material. It's a plausible approach. My only issue is that the design is so cartoon 'flat" compared to the figure. I think it would work if the wings were based on a retro wing design.

My concern is how they attach. Is it sewn on or detachable from the harness or suit...

The molded plastic wing "backpack" sounds like a perfect idea w/the "clothing item becomes organic item/unique for Mego characters non-organic item" with the new accessory ala the Cowardly Lions's feet et al... I would've went with the backpack or silk-screened wings with bendy wire circumference attached or inside.

The cardboard is okay... but maybe over the line of visually off-putting... yes, even for something made in a "retro" style.

If Mego had made a Hawkman, they would have either done this, or silkscreened fabric wings like Lizards tail and Falcon's wings. At least these ones are poseable.

I like 'em.

I think it's also possible that Mego might have done "backpack" molded wings as the quality and detail of the WGSH progressed.

Yeah, I'm not feeling it. I get the intent, but the effect is just to chintzy looking. Especially at $30, and also because the rest of the figure is spot on.

Yikes. It never occurred to me that they would use plastic covered cardboard for wings. Disaster.
