I'm holding off on Flash wave 1. Boomerang and Trickster are great, but Zoom and Barry needed new heads, too. Already have FTC Super Powers and Super Friends Flash figures. Besides my Mezco One:12 Flash (Barry and Wally heads!) and Zoom (villian head sculpt) and Fantastic costumes are good enough.
I hope FTC shows Wonder Woman wave 1 soon, though. My most anticipated wave!

Very true. It's all a kitbasher's dream, but hopes of polished production figures are slim.Leave a comment:

I haven't bought a single new figure yet (edit: I did buy the 1969 Catwoman exclusive, which I think is great!). I still have plans to get some, but I am already thinking about fixes, and that's not the way I want to be thinking before I make a purchase.
The Flash's boots... I don't understand. Why? It almost feels like the factory messed up and made all red boots and the easy fix was to paint half of them yellow.
I wish I had access to their new stand at that flea market. If I could guarantee the paint apps, I could at least live with some of the other issues. But every blind order is a crap shoot.Last edited by TRDouble; Apr 18, '17, 9:13 AM.Leave a comment:

I was referring to Boomerang, sorry. In the pics he has the Iron Man/Titans style shortened sleeves that end at the gloves.thunderbolt- No gloves at all; the sleeves are more classic Mego style, going to the wrist and ending with matching colored hands (the more gloved looking ones). It honestly looks a lot better this way than the gloves of the Super Powers release.
jeffbearco- Left him sitting out with his boots hanging off so they were completely surrounded by air; still tacky as when I first got him. The belt might be a little high, but not so much I really noticed on first glance.
I will say the problems are having an effect on how I'm buying these things. Used to be I'd snatch up stuff as it came up for pre-order so I wouldn't miss it. I waited a couple weeks this time for these, am still waiting on the evil Superfriends, and am still debating getting Space Ghost at all. Given how much I love Megos, that's pretty bad...Leave a comment:

I bought this series and was pretty disappointed. My Flash has sticky boots, and the head on Reverse Flash is a very dark yellow...almost orange. It doesn't match his suit at all. I'll probably end up selling them all.Leave a comment:

So, did the boots ever dry?
And is the belt in the right place? Or not? Now it sounds like it goes back and forth.
Sweet Baby Jesus.
I want this figure to be right so bad.

[QUOTE=thunderbolt;1325650]why in the world would they have not cast the boots in yellow?
Yes, why? I thought these were the SF Flash boots that were cast in yellow before? I guess it's some complicated form of cost-cutting. We've seen pictures of Wave 1 Flash in a recycled SF Flash suit with the correctly placed lightning belt. But some people also reported their Wave 1 Flash still had the 'high-riding' belt, meaning FTC might have used whatever they had lying around for this 'new' Flash ...Leave a comment:

What's especially puzzling about the boots is, unless I'm mistaken, they're the same ones used for Super Friends Flash. So they've already been cast in yellow, I believe.Leave a comment:

why in the world would they have not cast the boots in yellow? That's just plain lazy. Did they or did they not fix the shortened sleeves from the prototypes?Leave a comment:

Okay, had to hold off a little bit before ordering these, but got them in. Some good points, some bad. One overall comment, though: all of them show a growing headsculpt problem, namely that someone apparently doesn't realize a human skull has a back. All of the heads here are squashed bizarrely front to back, something I'm noticing more and more in the FTC heads. Size is getting under control, at least in this and the Batman wave, but this is something I've only seen once before, in some really crappy Heroes of the Ice hockey figures that had Mego sized heads, and the ones we're seeing from FTC are a lot worse on that count. They look good to great from the front, but they look like someone took a large blunt instrument to the backs of their heads. Thee's no other line out there right now where I see something like this. It's a new reason not to buy extras, sadly.
Flash: pretty close to what we got before, but one BIG problem: the boots are Reverse Flash's painted yellow. BADLY painted yellow. Some of the paint got onto the material on the legs, and it is still tacky after leaving him out for a few days. The head is still pretty good, be better if it wasn't tilted to the left a bit, giving him a permanent quizzical look. I do think the figure looks a lot better with the red hands than the gloves.
Prof Zoom: Same as Flash on all counts except the boots are cast in red, so no tacky problems. Same head, same quizzical tilt. Otherwise looks good.
Boomerbutt: Head is sculpted well, captures Digger nicely. The hat is...odd, and off, not to mention near impossible to keep on his head (needed a glue stick). It's almost perfect save for the squashing mentioned above and the guy-liner on his eyes. These figures look very odd when FTC outlines the top and bottom of the eyes in black; he's a super-villain, not a rock star. Flash and Zoom have just the upper lid outlined, and that looks best good. Even for some of the ladies it looks odd as they often do it too thick, so it is something they need to be careful with on females and outright stop on males. THe costume is well done save for the overlays on the boots; I know what they were going for, but the execution won't stay put and looks really wonky. There's also color problems, the overlays on the boots should actually be white, and the gloves black for a classic Boomerang. And, yes, he should have come with one, by the way (classic boomerang, that is); he needs his signature weapon as much as Ollie needs his bow.
Trickster: Again, a great head save for the squash. The collar is a little problematical, but still works. The boots seem too small to go over the costume's footies; they keep wanting to pop partway off. Again, seems to be some color problems, but they may be using a different model source than the comics I know from the 70's and Who's Who entries. They got down all the different striped parts well, though, so the overall effect is what you'd want.
Not bad, but I can't totally rave about any of the figures; each has problems they really shouldn't at this point, especially Flash's boots (may have to coat them with Elmers to be able to even stand him without sticking or leaving some yellow behind). These are really frustrating in that regard; this set is close to being really good, the kind of thing I want to see from FTC, but misses that level with things we shouldn't be having problems with this far into the lines...Leave a comment:
