How do you display your figures?

Right now, I have some loose. I have some in clear boxes. And I have some in their original packages.

What is your favorite way to display figures? And if you take them out of the original packages, do you save the FTC packages in case you want to resell them later?

All my FTC are still in clamshell just stacked up. Not sure what to do with them.

All of my things except for a few are safely packed away in boxes until my wife finally decides what to do with all her her craft stuff in the spare room. Once that (hopefully) goes I can move all my things in there and work on displaying them.

This is what I have going on as well. I need to figure out how I am going to display these.....particularly in a glass case. I have 3 Detolf cases, but those are filled already so I am looking for alternatives.

These are the cases I use when I want to display them out of their original packaging. All of my original Mego figures are in these.

They are about the right size and do keep the dust off them.

Collecting Warehouse has some great stuff! They have a website too that I have ordered from in the past.

I had what I could opened and displayed on my computer desk, with the rest in boxes just off the living room; not something my wife is pleased about!

I am in the (long) process of cleaning up my computer desk, which is in a small room with other collectibles... and boxes :(

Once I get rid of my old computer desk and hook up my new one, I will use the extra space on that to re-display as much as I can again, and continue to try and find space for more, amongst the DC Universe Classics and Marvel Legends figures I have on my shelves. I would like to find a way to protect them better from the dust, but without isolating them too. Otherwise, I will just put the unopened figures in boxes and those boxes in the basement, once I create more room down there by getting rid of stuff.

I still have the empty clams, but I see no reason to keep them. They take up too much space. I just have to figure out the best way to get rid of them; I don't want to just toss them.

I have six curio cabinet style display cases around in my bedroom with 5 to 6 shelves in each and all full of figures, mostly 2 of each, one still mint in package with a loose version posed in front of it, I have the rest of my collection that is not displayed in clear plastic totes stored in a walk-in closet.

I display them on what I call minishelves, basically make from foamboard and right angle metal brackets, with computer printed backgrounds. I've got one big display up on one wall rounding a corner holding the repros of the original super heroes and the newer ones done in the same style. I have another fairly big one set up for the Super Friends and Legion of Doom. There are several more up toward the ceiling out in the hall and another bedroom for Bats '66, the Dukes, Planet of the Apes, and the Diamond Marvel 8"ers. The one thing I try to avoid is simply having them standing there; I have them walking, running, jumping on or off the Batmobile, facing off against enemies, flying on 18 gauge wire, etc. I always picture the display as a splash page from a comic book, that big full page of action at the beginning of the story to draw you in. I even make a logo for the line displayed and put it somewhere in the display itself, like some of the classic splash pages of old.

Thing is, they are action figures, and I want them in action.

This is one thing I like about this forum. There's always a bunch of people in the same situation as you are in. I've got mine stacked in boxes in my basement, also wondering what I'm going to do with them, along with all the other stuff I've bought over the years and didn't know what to do with.

Some days, I think I'm two pizza boxes and a dead cat away from being a hoarder.

                          Me too

I get on a roll selling off items I no longer want or know will never see the light of day, and then I come across something that I feel like I just cannot part with and it all comes to a grinding halt.

And by the time I do sell, I usually lose more money on the item than I gain, at least compared to what I could have gotten for it if I sold it off earlier. Good thing I'm not in it for the money!

                            Can we see some pictures?

I'm always looking for good ways to display my stuff. I have mine temporarily in a dark brown Billy which really makes the colors pop and feels very much like my bedroom in the 70s, but I haven't found a permanent solution that I'm happy with.
                            All boxes are repro, incidentally.
