I will pick these up eventually, but like the Stooges and the Monkeys, I will wait a bit and look for reduced pricing. Unlike DC,which I but right away. I woud be interested in a Greek Mythlogy line, and Military line, and a Presidential line.

When we visited the Orlando Harry Potter theme park, it was impossible to not be swept away, and I say that as a Casual fan of the films. I saw 20 somethings literally reduced to tears of joy, they were so overcome with being transported into that world. Tears! If they market these correctly, it should be a license to print money.

I enjoyed the movies and think these figures are really well done. Am I going to collect them? No.

Well that is what I mean. I am not suggesting a kid will walk into a store and buy them on impulse, it would be more like a kid with the parent in the toy store and "Oh, can I get that!!" type of thing. It is not like it was in the 70's when I was a kid and would ride my bike to Kmart or Jamesway when I was 10-12 and buy a toy I earned the money for cutting grass. Todays 10-12 yr olds don't tend to earn money and their parents buy the everything.

For about 100 bucks each, you can get really nice 1:6 figures by Star Ace/Sideshow. Much nicer than the FTC 1:6 figures.

When I went, the year the park opened, people were paying a crazy amount for wands. Just these plastic or whatever wands. Heck, I almost bought one before I came to my senses! I think these would sell very well at the theme park for people who want souvenirs from their vacations; a time when people are willing to spend extra bucks on novelty purchases. I still have mine & my daughter's build-a-lightsabers somewhere in the basement from our 2008 Disney trip.

You don't go to theme parks much and see the guests blowing thru the money, do you? These will do quite well there. If FTC is able to get them on the shelves.

True! Each and every ride you go on exits directly into a gift shop!

Its like that every time we go there, the two areas that are packed are HP and Simpsons. Mostly young adults in robes and scarves and other HP cosplay type stuff.

i think they look great and will sell very well, if FTC gets them out where the general public is aware of them
I personally have no interest in them, but loved the books and the movies

I am very disappointed that they didn't do Hermione. I'd guess it was the hair thing (molded vs hair) I can see that as being a challenge on a more realistic figure of this size. Also with the current female body the hand can't really hold a wand. Still, I'd hope they do a figure of her at some point.

I'm probably in for all 3 in 8" in hopes the line will continue. I'd also probably get the school sweaters and grey pants for each as an option. Maybe even a black cape to go over.

I agree. I'll probably pick them up for my daughter, but the outfits here are disappointing. I expected the swearers and maybe a cape.

I was hoping for the school outfits and younger versions. They were so young when they started out that the "teen" bodies would work perfect for them. And if they really wanted to make a splash, with no Hermoine, make a Dumbledore instead.

I do sort of understand going older, and making Draco, but they still could have done them in school outfits since they have the clothes base for sale at their store.

My main thought now is whether or not they are going to do more of them. I do plan on getting the 3 that are on pro-order now. But if they are going to do more, I'll hold off on the customs.

Otherwise I'm looking at some of the Hateful 8 bearded figures thinking CUSTOM FODDER!!!

Plus there has to be some Snape love at some point!

For the nay-sayers who are saying these are peg warmers, I don't agree. I can see these selling a LOT better than the 3 Stooges or Monkees. The books and movies have a HUGE fan base to draw from. The main thing will be getting the figures out there in the appropriate market!

For now, I'm thinking the LOST Claire Littleton will make a worthwhile Hermione figure with a little paint and a new costume. As more female figures are relased, the clothing options are definitely opening up.
