I don't understand why you're upset with CTVT for the UK government collecting a tax off of you-they (CTVT) have no control over that.
I live in Canada, our dollar is pretty 'weak' right now, and only going to get worse. A pair of boots, for example, CTVT sells for say $3 is gonna cost me over $4-but that's not CTVT's fault.
If you're suggesting they should've under valued your order, well technically that's illegal.
If you're displeased with how the global economy works, well join the club!
But 'venting' on a CTVT forum is perhaps not the best way to express your 'displeasure'. IMHO
I hope you keep making customs because I kinda like what you're doing!

I've bought things from the US where the Canadian duty is over half of what I paid for the item. There is a reason people skirt the laws. I am at a bit of a loss as to why the UK can offer me cheaper shipping than the US, and China can offer me free shipping.Comment

it would be nice, as it is at the moment it seems like we are been excluded .even if they lowered the minimum order to $20 it wouldn't be so bad at least then it would be under the customs limit.i bought an iron man, green goblin & mr.fantastic combined for the same price it cost me for a few pairs of boots.Comment

what i meant was with ctvt you have to make a minimum purchase of $40 which puts it over the maximum you are allowed before you are charged import tax on top of that $25 shipping and you are looking at £65-£70 for some accessories once the import charges are added.with doc mego & castaway you can buy as little as you want so avoid the customs charge.
So I guess I see where you're coming from. Not sure you can completely blame CTVT's shipping policy, but that's not for me to judge.
Kinda weird, my way of looking at a CTVT order is I can get a lot of accessories and stay at the $20 minimum shipping charge so I might throw in stuff that I may or may not even use. And if the mailman wants to collect any money off me (which I don't think has ever happened with any CTVT order) its only 5% sales tax & an $8 (or so) handling fee.
But with the Canadian dollar tanking I'm not spending much hobby money right now, cross border or locally.

no the shipping is not included you can have items up to £15 anymore then you get a handling charge of £8 and whatever the amount over the £15.i have had bigger orders from other places and the shipping has never been over $16 and that's for bodies.even if they stuck to their $25 shipping price and just lowered ther minimum purchase to $20 at least the buyer could buy say $22 worth of stuff and the most they would be paying would be $47 inc shipping and still not get a custom charge.they would surely get more overseas custom this way.Comment
