If you call them directly at 813-749-0800, you can ask them for special packing. You'll likely get Tony or Steve. I'm sure they will be able to provide you assistance on that.

as I review pics of the box, it seems inevitable the shark would jostle loose during shipping.
Seems they did the box backwards - they used corrugated for the box, and simple chipboard for the insert.
Had that been turned around, and the insert made out of corrugated - it would have given some “squeeze” to the item and held it in place a bit more.

Whew! After reading all the horror stories I'm glad my set arrived intact! I'm not crazy about Aquaman's head placement (kinda looks like Linda Blair from The Exorcist!) but all in all I made out ok.
Hope your situation gets resolved gummi!

I can do that for you; just give me a shout if/when you decide to buy.

That's a good idea. As much as I hate having that seal cut, that would really be the only way to ensure the shark didn't break loose in the package. I think I'll request that myself if I go for the exchange.

Mine was loose and flopping around in his box as well. No damage, but disappointing when thinking of the collectors that don't want to open the box having the same issue.

Mine was a tad askew in the box, and the head was dislodged on one side, but easily popped back in place. I think one problem with the fishy coming loose is in part due the way the carrier deals with the boxes; the shipping box is long and somewhat narrow, so the carrier naturally stood it on its end upon delivery, and I imagine that's likely the position it winds up in a different point along the way (sorting, setting it aside, putting it in the truck, etc).

They are packed six in a master case, with 3 smaller boxes packed as doubles. One right side up, one upside down.

Yikes! That's not good. I don't see the ones packed upside down making it to FTC in the best of shape. That upper jaw would be flopping around everywhere in transit that way.

Well, my story has a happy ending. To my surprise, I received another Shark set in the mail today, and luckily it was in good condition. FTC had sent the replacement out in error, so I just have to ship the damaged one back to them now. It's funny, I had actually decided to go with a return and look for one locally, so this couldn't have worked out better.

i actually bought one. it was packed well but pretty beat. shark jaw was popped off and the top fin had poked through the top of the box. i just wanted to inspect the fake hands for myself. ill keep the shark maybe and throw the rest in a junk bin.
