I LOVE the bandless body! It is one of the better bodies out there. Craig is a genius!
If FTC were to go bandless, at least 45% of the complaints would go away. Another 10% would cover the over sized heads, and clothes that don't fit. That would be 55% out of 100%, which leaves them 45% of stuff they get right.
Which isn't all that bad when you think about it.JediJaidaComment

About the inner child, I'm w/ you all the way BB. As I mentioned in another post, when it comes to toys, I see everything with a child's heart. I get excited w/ all the announcements, b/c even if it's a line I'm not into, I think this is a great time to be a Mego fan! There are more "Megos" (I include re-Megos in that), than ever before. My kid self didn't play w/ a lot of Megos, but I always loved the commercials. I wish those were made now w/ the new Megos, and I wish these were just as popular w/ kids as they were back in the day. I wish I could hear the boys at my school talking about "the commercial I saw on TV about the new Superfriends action figures". or "I want a Jonny Quest guy for Christmas". Yeah, I know...that will never happen. But what I'm trying to say is that seeing all these figures makes me remember when I heard kids talking about Megos and superheroes for Christmas, and how good those days were. And yes, I do want some of these figures b/c I still wanna play!Last edited by HardyGirl; Nov 15, '15, 11:44 AM."Do you believe, you believe in magic?

All toylines have issues, brittle plastic, paint jobs that are wonky, bad hair, lack of one thing or another and not a single line is free of those issues. I appreciate FTC stepping up and taking chances by doing lines that no one would dare and for hiring the Farrow! Getting the Farrow has definitely helped them and is a step in the right direction. As much I love the original Megos, they have their issues too. I work for a company that is owned by NECA toys and have seen several toylines that move and the ones that don't. At this point the superhero lines (retro Mego) isn't doing so well but neither is the NECA monster series due to its price tag of $29.99. Its all about fanbase, geographics and if the item appeals to the masses. FTC started out with bad plastics and weird sculpts. My first FTC purchase was their Elvira 1998 figure which is pretty ugly and Cassandra Peterson (Elvira) herself regrets having made. In the latest issue of Fangoria Magazine Cassandra Peterson says she cringes at having to sign the FTC figure at conventions now. That was a figure from 1998 but I'm sure if it were made now, it be a whole new different story. FTC has gotten so much better but there's always room for improvement. Some stuff still doesn't make sense to me though, like weird body twists on the series one 12 and 8 inch figures? I fixed the 8 in but am not about to tamper with the 12in versions. My 12 in Gene Simmons Sonic Boom figure has the crappiest hair in the world. All these things are great issues because WE all paid big bucks for these figures especially the 12 versions. Its easy to see why some people are upset over things like these but overall, I applaud FTC for making changes that will certainly improve their lines even if some of them don't appeal to me. In the end, all figures suffer from issues, my Todd MacFarlane figures have issues too but I still love them no matter what.Comment

As a kid the flaws with the original Megos did not go unnoticed, but they were arguably the best figures out there, and in most cases the only ones representing those characters. The pose-ability and size gave them better play value than most anything else at the time, and I wouldn't trade that for a more accurate looking but less articulated figure back then. As adults, I think most of us overlook the play value they had as children because now we put them on the shelf, and without those play factors the main criteria for us becomes visual, and the flaws which have always been an issue stand out more in that context. I still love them, new or old, to me they are a more accurate representation of a real person or character, wearing clothes, boots and gloves which hide the ugly joints most figures have, than the most detailed plastic super articulated figures that are out today. Even Hot Toys, which look so realistic, are closer to the Mego design than a Star Wars Black series or Marvel Legends figure in my opinion. I'll take an FTC figure any day over most of what is out now.Comment
