I think the head size is a bit exaggeration and overblown...

I have all mine on S-types and the head sizes are perfectly fine

Wave 4 (heads) looks to be the same as Wave 1,2,3 and they'll be swapped on S-types

and Wave 5 (heads) looks to be the same as the rest which they also will go on S-types.Figuring out what body I'll use for Batgirl.

It doesn't strike me as sad. Possibly curmudgeonly or possibly discriminating, depending on one's perspective. I think most members are as consistent in their opinions as you are in yours. Welcome back.

This is a good point, as the Type S is a larger body.

I have moved a lot of my FTC figures into Type-S bodies too, sometimes due to bad quality of the original body, sometimes for the extra posability of the Type-S. Overall, it has been good, but not without a few issues here and there, like my '66 Batman and Robin making my Joker and Riddler look like shrimps on their original bodies.

That said, buying $10 bodies to upgrade a formerly $25 figure should only be an option, not a necessity to correct a figure, whether it is a bad quality body or an oversized head.

And with *that* said, while this series has some issues, I have thoroughly enjoyed the '66 Batman line, even with warts that are Gorshwin Riddler and no umbrella for Penguin. I wish some things could be improved, but my biggest disappointment is usually quality of the bodies, more than anything else. And lately that has become more spotty than the norm for me.

Perhaps she had bigger things to worry about.

I guess also I have to say, I'm a little shocked at FTC's photography. That picture is so small and grainy and almost pixelated. I'm sure it does nothing to flatter the figures. But with the rising prices of these figures, they ought to hire someone to photograph them professionally. We're all judging something that looks like it was taken with an older cell phone. I realize it's just sneak peak, but if it were my company, I'd want to make my product look as good as it can, like Sideshow or Hot Toys does.

Those look great. FTC should use those as templates.

Maybe this has been discussed in another thread, but what is the cause of the scale issues with some of these figures' heads? I'm not trying to stir up complaints ... I am genuinely asking. I'm sure FTC sees/knows of this, right?

I guess I'm asking where in the figure making process does the scale of the head "go wrong?"

Captact, that's a beautiful rendering. Thanks for posting! I am not touching the scale topic, but I am admiring the Farrow's sculpt for it's own art. I compared it to some Batgirl TV pics, and I think the sculpture alone is an honor to Yvonne under that mask. I am inspired now to plan out a 'paintjob' for the sculpt. I am thankful for my digital drawing tool. It helps me figure out a better likeness, so I can customize my Batgirl: New eyes, lightened lips, cheek shadows, and a matte/flocked mask shadow and ears shadows...

Each type of plastic has a specific shrink rate. When a piece is sculpted that will be used to make a tooling master, the shrink rate of the plastic that the production pieces will be cast in needs to be taken into account. Using PVC as an example, it has a shrink rate of around 4%. This means that the tooling master needs to be be approximately 4% larger than what a production piece will be. There's also the option of making the tooling master in the correct scale and have the factory adjust for the shrink when they make the mold.

Exactly correct. And as well she asked for several changes to the figure along the way and they were happily made for her. The pictures don't do the figures justice. In person they look fine.

That's good to know, we always hope for that. And Batgirl is a much desired-figure.
