18" Batman figures are shipping!

Actually, the bodies seem thinner/less muscular than the 8" figures. Or maybe I'm remembering the old Superman vs Buck Rogers 12 inch figures. One of them was thin and the other more muscular. Strangely, I think Buck came on the bigger body.

You're correct. These use Mego's second issue body type, which was thinner compared to the 8", and had one relaxed hand, and one with a finger slightly pointing. The first issue 12" body was the same as the Sonny Bono and first issue Kiss figures. Buck Rogers, had the third type 12" body which was much more muscular, and both hands were the same. The "Fly-A-Way Action" 12" Superman and Magnetic Batman had the same muscular body as Buck Robers, which was the third and final male body design in that scale. These 18" figures are thinner with slightly more elongated limbs than their 8" counterparts. The head sculpt does appear to be exactly the same however.

Molded cowl Batman was my very first Mego WGSH and it's still my favorite.

i'm all about Batman and Robin in this scale when cash avails! and riddler definitely looks more fittingly trim. something about the original 8"mego version made like he was wearing an adult onesie- to me anyway!

I got mine today! FABULOUS! This toy makes me very happy!!! Somehow, the differences in materials from the vintage are more forgivable in the larger scale. This is 18 inches of awesomeness. I'll snap some pics when I get a chance, but I'm unsure if I'll unbox him.

I think Superman translated better than Batman. But I'll still keep him and probably get a removable cowl Batman, if they make one.
