I think the sculpt probably started out looking pretty good, but the head got squeezed during the hollow casting process. I'm assuming, I have no idea really.
It does look like SuperFriends.

Oversized head again. Counting Bizarro, that's two figures I definitely would have bought that I'm going to have to skip now.
If Batman wave 4 has the melon heads I'm done with FTC. Modern Batman and Scarecrow are figures I've wanted for years and if FTC screws them up there's really no point in me bothering with FTC anymore.Leave a comment:

I'm loving those boots! I really hope they sell those in the store as well.Leave a comment:

The prototypes (or early photos) and the production versions have always been exactly the same with FTC. What we will get will be exactly like this. So yep it's a dud.Leave a comment:

^^ didn't even notice the chest emblem, the goofy head killed it for me.Leave a comment:

I'm not sure that I would be able to identify the line inspiration for this figure (Super Friends) if I stumbled across this by itself.
I also think the chest emblem is too small.Leave a comment:

Good observation. Why can a figure line from 12+ years ago pretty much nail it, and this one be so off?Leave a comment:

Arrrg! I was so looking forward to the SF line. But that head sculpt is terrible! I don't like it at all. The costume is nice. I like the details. I would be willing to reserve judgement on the boots and head size until we see the actual production version. But to me, SF Superman should have a grin, not a grimace! I hope that it will look better in final form, otherwise it may get it for the costume but not the head.Leave a comment:

I'm not totally in love with it. They got elements of it right, but I think they should have looked to the DC Direct figure and maquette for translating these into 3D. They nailed the SF look. I agree the teeth are what's really throwing it off for me.

Doesn't look like SF Superman....looks like one if those Put-Your-Face-On-A-Figure that they do...Leave a comment:

I just hope they get BATMAN "right"...if they do that, it won't bother me to pass on the rest of the SF line. Please...no goofy open mouth smile on Batman.Leave a comment:

It's funny that something as small as the belt is the major offender that throws everything off. Yes, there is a LOT "wrong" about the details of the head sculpt---starting with the size----BUT, I see what they were going for---it really is the definition of "a swing and a miss" whereas their Robin head sculpt was very good. Yes, the boots are a bit thick, but I felt the same way about the Mattel Retro hero boots, but changed my mind when I had some of the figures in person.
I'd pick this guy up eventually----heck, I'd pick up any Re-Mego with the "Super Friends" name on it eventually. The reason I won't do it right away is because, yeah, it's not spectacular, and, frankly, my DC Direct SF Supes will tide me over for a long time.
I think the real "tempters" of this line---the ones that'll haunt me til I'm able to purchase them, are characters like Grodd, Brainiac, Toyman, a "SF" recolored Capt. Cold----figures that are really unique to the toy world.
Wendy, Marvin & Wonderdog? If they release those---I THINK---even though I have great DCUC-type customs of them, I'd still buy FTC's right off the bat----those releases would be the MOST unique.Leave a comment:
