^ Not really. I know I have the only real one and it looks nothing like mine. Looks more like the Creature's hand than it does the Web Hand Aquaman. It's like all the other re-issue stuff that they have done...3rd generation copies. That's not complaining or sour grapes, it's just a fact. Everything they have done since the beginning of their re-issues has been a 3rd generation copy of the originals. Look at all of the figures from Space 1999, Westerns, Legends and others and all of them lack detail in the faces and the bodies are the worst in the industry...all due to the fact that they are 3rd generation copies. Nothing beats an original. That being said, I do applaud them for the 1966 Batman line. It has been the only ORIGINAL remego that they've come up with.
"When not too many people can see we're all the same
And because of all their tears,
Their eyes can't hope to see
The beauty that surrounds them
Isn't it a pity".
I'd think this would help cement BM's WH Aquaman as a legendary piece...a unique part of Mego history, that I always assumed (right or wrong) was nothing more than a simple popular (back in the day) "whatdyacallit" (plastic flashing?) factory error---extra plastic---that got caught in the promo machine for a photo or drawing or two---ya know? (Not sure if there ever was confirmation that this was a "character intentional" decision)
Whatever the case, it's a tribute to the classic Mego legend idea, and, if anything, BM's toy just shot up in "collector's value" with the release of this newest of new FTC breaking news.
"No. No no no no no no. You done got me talkin' politics. I didn't wanna'. Like I said y'all, I'm just happy to be alive. I think I'll scoot over here right by this winda', let this beautiful carriage rock me to sleep, and dream about how lucky I am." - Chris Mannix
Cool homage. I have to admit I never really got the appeal of that set but I'm still super happy for the people that always wanted the shark.
You are a bold and courageous person, afraid of nothing. High on a hill top near your home, there stands a dilapidated old mansion. Some say the place is haunted, but you don't believe in such myths. One dark and stormy night, a light appears in the topmost window in the tower of the old house. You decide to investigate... and you never return...
