Last I heard they can't make a Batmobile that has a rolling chassis. Rolling capability isn't a deal breaker for me, but it is for others.

Does that only extend to the 66 Batmobile? Or could they make the SuperFriends version?

Thanks! I thought FTC could NOT make a Batmobile AT ALL! No rolling wheels does not bother me as it will be parked for display in Batcave! A kid can always PUSH it across floor!

It's been a few months since I had the conversation, but I believe they can do Batmobiles in scale with the 8" DC license as long as they don't roll. I think the rolling component conflicts with other licenses with companies that just sell vehicles - ie Mattel. Pretty sure SP Batmobile was in the discussion. Tooling costs loom large, especially for a more complex vehicle like SP Batmobile as opposed to a GA car or something similar.

As strange as that sounds on its face, I can easily see that being the problem. Big licenses like DC get split up so many different ways these days, I'm surprised any toy maker can keep track of what they can or can't make under their part of the license. Truth be told, I'd much rather have a non-rolling Batmobile; rolling vehicles usually have to be fastened down in some way to keep them from potential rolling out of the display. So a Batmobile that will just stay put where I plop it is actually quite attractive to me...

I want Batcave 1st! Aquaman/shark is most valuable Mego item and its nice getting repro but its still Aquaman I already have and generic shark which many toy companies sold to cash in on JAWS!

I would have rather had Batmobile before shark set to go with Batcave already!

I really hope I'm wrong about this, but this seems like an April fools prank to me. The graphics on that "Bat Cave" box look like they were quickly put together in Photoshop.

It's not an april fools joke becuase april fools was two days agoanyway this is cool but not for me,but very cool old playsets and vehicles are getting made.I don't have the space for playsets but if they make a supermobile with the robot arms and a remego Arrowcar i would be tempted.

And actually, a car/carrying case would be cool? Like a Batman Mobile Crime Lab that could hold several figures and their stuff? That's how I used my Big Jim Camper when I was a kid.

That's how the graphics on their Monsters Castle box looked also....kinda kludgy. And it was really poorly manufactured (which is why it's sitting in the box collecting dust under my sons bed), so I hope these do better but not hopeful. If anything, that Aquaman in the picture looks horrible.

FTC Mad Monsters Castle playset is $70, how much will Batcave cost? DST/EMCE Mego Star Trek Enterprise playset was $60 I remember not bad. I could have bought a 2nd Enterprise for $40 MIB! RATS!

Bruce Wayne may be only one able to buy his Wayne Foundation playset!

I love Mego Batcave, I got it 40 years ago Christmas 1975 with Batgirl and Batcycle I think. Batcave reminded me so much of TV version, loved Batpole, computer, working signal, and secret entrance and tarp floor! And folded up like suitcase! We need Batmobile next!
