I still wish for the Mego style commercials for some of these lines, even if it was only online. I know, not gonna happen, but hey, i can dream!

Yes, I can see I believe that it's magic

I have no problem with Megos of Potter, or any license I don't really go ga-ga for. The more the merrier. Mego made a metric ton of licensed figures...super heroes were probably the most popular, but the format was pretty universal.

No Blazing Saddles figures. *sigh* I was hoping for a Gene Wilder figure so they'd have his head sculpt and be able to branch into other movie lines once they have it. Tell me you wouldn't want him as Willy Wonka.

You sir, should be in politics. Seriously though---it's not line preference issues that the bulk of criticism stems from---it's substance vs. sizzle. Hey, I know (and observe) many others having their pure fun re: these announcements, but my closer "dream of dreams" is to be in a Mego-style fan community where less people felt they were being overhyped in this kind of scenario. Even without MM/FTC announcements, I already feel I've been living in amazing times regarding new adult-geared toys on the market....very exciting stuff going on all around. So, if the MM/FTC announcements appear more gratuitous than not, it's kind of a buzz-kill.

Silly me for thinking one of these announcements would be the continuation of the Batman 66 line and some actual preorders. I'm starting to think the line is in trouble.

I love that photo of Ralphie. It's simply perfect.

So let's see: 4 announcements so far?

                  Super Friends
                  Scooby Doo
                  Justice League
                  Harry Potter

I'm not sure what your definition of "substance vs. sizzle" is, but that seems like a pretty "substance" heavy list. Even if they aren't all your cup of tea... surely you will concede those are big reveals.

They would be big reveals if we didn't already know they were coming (some of the time). Some of the time, it's more redundant than resourceful. And that is my definition of "substance vs. sizzle". Hope that explanation helps---then again, this is something that should be obvious from others' forum posts, so, apologies if my "substance vs. sizzle" phrase was misleading.

To me the substance of the Potter announcement was the photo of the figure. The head and the clothing looked great. Excellent likeness if not the best on any non-animated figure FTC has shown. That likeness excites me for the Potter figures and gives me hope for other lines, as well.
