You must try to generate happiness within yourself. If you aren't happy in one place, chances are you won't be happy anyplace. -Ernie Banks -
I hear you, but I want Wendy, Marvin, Wonder Dog, Zan, Jayna and Gleek. They're imprinted on my childhood brain and that supersedes how lame my adult brain may think they are. I don't separate them from Apache Chief, Samurai, etc.

I agree - I think you need the full set of these to be made of everyone who was on the show."Where Does He Get Those Wonderful Toys?"Comment

And so we wait.
I'm eager to see what the first wave will be. If they throw out Zan, Jayna and Gleek in the first wave, I'm afraid this line will be off to a slow start. I hope they mix them in with the big 5. I'd be more interested in Wendy and Marvin mainly because they were included in the Young Justice cartoon as characters. (Still one of my favorite cartoon series)
I will definitely be after the other HB heroes though. Bring on El Dorado, Samurai, Apache Chief, and Black Vulcan.

I think I am only interested in this group, from the first season:
I was 9 when it first aired, at a perfect time, since I had all the DC Megos.
It wasn't long after though, that I started complaining, because The Super Friends never punched the villians.
It was a silly time when it seemed like violence was banned from cartoons.
I loved the BIFF BAM POW of the '66 Batman TV Show,

and grew up of the '67 Spider-Man cartoon, that I loved as well.
The Super Friends show has some sentimental value to me though, because it was from a simpler time in my life, but it was always a little lame.
The battles my brothers and I had with our Megos were much bigger, more violent, and explosive!
Having said all that, I would collect the 5 heroes here for sure, but not Wendy, Marvin, and that dog. I always hated silly pets on Superhero shows.
You know what though, I always thought the Mego Superman was like the Super Friends version anyways, same with Aquaman. All they might do is give them simpler sculpts, and the Mego heads are pretty simple already.Last edited by BATMAN89; Feb 6, '15, 10:51 AM.Comment

This is great! I don't know if I'd buy the "core 5" (as some of you have called them), b/c I have the original Mego ones anyway, (and Mattel's Wonder Woman). and they're what I use for Super Friends. But I definitely want The Wonder Twins and Gleek. Maybe they could make a limited number of Wendy, Marvin and WonderDog. I'd buy a set!Last edited by HardyGirl; Feb 6, '15, 11:19 AM."Do you believe, you believe in magic?

No Wendy, Marvin, Zan, Jayna, and at least the 3 core ethnic heroes, and it's a failure of a line, leeching off the Super Friends name, while in actuality, not giving actual Super Friends product in my opinion."No. No no no no no no. You done got me talkin' politics. I didn't wanna'. Like I said y'all, I'm just happy to be alive. Super Friends is what got me into comic books and Megos, basically, so it will always have a special place for me (and the first season wasn't all that bad from a story perspective). I definitely am on board for the Wonder Twins and Gleek (depending on head size). I'd love Wendy and Marvin, but I'm not sure how Marvin would be done. He was too big for the teen body, but way too slender for the regular adult body. A new skinny body would be a great addition to the repertoire FTC has available (if they ever get around to the Metal Men, you'd need it for Mercury), and would give us a good Marvin, as well. I think the ethnic heroes are a shoe-in (they were in the Mattel license, so I don't see that they wouldn't be in this one). Still holding out a forlorn hope about a 12" or 18" Apache Chief. As for the regular heroes, I can see some could be a bit distinct from the standard version. An Alex Toth SF Supes would be a bit different in head sculpt, as would Aquaman, Batman, Robin and Green Lantern (love to see him with the cartoon accurate California tan). Flash and Hawkman, though, were pretty much what the regular versions would be; only real difference with Flash at all would be the all yellow chest insignia. Same kind of thing with Green Arrow, if you want to include first season guest stars, where the only thing they would need to change is to give him the correct gloves.
Still even if a lot of them are just somewhat different versions of what we get in comic book form, it would be worth getting them just to finally have a good set of all the Super Friends and Legion of Doom in cartoon form. We got the main heroes in near perfect cartoon form from DC Direct, but they couldn't do the ethnic heroes at the time. We've got everyone from Challenge and the ethnic heroes, plus the Twins and Gleek, but all in comic book accurate form. This is a chance to do all of them toon style.
As for the Hall of Doom, there's apparently no problem with the Mouse and its Star Wars rights:
Pretty much dead on, design-wise.Comment

I hope everyone gets what they want, I am happy for the super friends, but much more excited for teen titans, new wgsh, i hope they go back to the old card with the faces, but the superman wave makes me think they may not do so. batman 66, and holding out far flung hope for Christopher Reeve line, Burton Batman line. Wonder Woman tv line. cowboy outfit, diving outfit! wondergirl Diana Prince! Shazam, two actors Capt. Marvel, baton, mentor! Greatest american hero line, and could you imagine a marvel 70's tv line? Bill Bixby Ferrigno Hulk Spiderman and Captain America?
My fear is that a low selling super friends wave followed by another can kill the company before it starts to really come together, I am more likely to buy the stooges than cartoon looking heroes. I must say I am ashamed how many Batmen I have in less than two years. Yes, I am the one who bought them strapped to the table!Comment
