Oh I love the subtle differences. The color is gorgeous in person. Photos seem to wash out the true tint. And something I haven't heard anyone mention is you can fold back this vinyl cape in a similar manner as the '66 Batman and it holds entirely in that position. It's a very soft and pliable material. Not like the vinyl material on the old Mego variants that you couldn't do anything with. And I LOVE the cowl - always a defining quality on the vintage figure. When I first saw pics and noticed a translucent hue inside the cowl on one FTC photo, I hung my head and thought, " Oh this is going to be a helmet like Mattel did it." But that's really not true. While it IS a plastic-like material, it does have some flexibility and is COMPLETELY form fitting, so it's not going to rock on his head. When it's on, it's on. And most importantly, it's a spot-on reproduction of that original cowl. Nothing conceptual in the mold. Just updated materials and a improved color tone. Plus I actually prefer this vinyl cape to the original material. It looks really good and fits more with the idea of the leather capes you see Batman wear today anyway, so it makes sense. And with the cowl not being made of rubber, that should solve the problem of blue dye coming off on his face. It's an awesome figure.

I am 44 and Megos were my 1st action figures, so I am living a dream and a 2nd childhood with what FTC is doing with the DC and 66 Batman licenses!

Looking forward to 18" DC and 66 Batman figures, Yvonne Craig Batgirl, JLA Flash, Green Lantern, and Hawkman, Teen Titans Series 2 8" Nightwing, Starfire, Cyborg, and Raven! WOW what a time to be a Mego DC fan!

If figures are made of Lynda Carter Wonder Woman TV series and Christopher Reeve Superman movies I will never ask for another toy!

If only DST and EMCE had this FREEDOM with Marvel Megos!
I am a bit curious why FTC is releasing the two Wonder Woman figures by themselves. That seems to suggest there won't be a Wonder Woman wave. Which is fine, but if they aren't going with a WW wave, I hope they at least release a Cheetah figure so we can complete the LOD lineup.

And you're right, we haven't even really talked about the 18" figures, will be interesting to see what FTC offers there.

While I am a DC fan more than Marvel, I do wish FTC had the Marvel license as well, but if Diamond is able to produce most of the main characters like Thor/Iron Man/Green Goblin, I would be pleased.

Thanks I didn't realize you could turn the cape back like that. I know a few here have squawked about the RC Batman having a vinyl cape saying it's not technically true to the original Mego, but I love it. It just seems to flow and look better than the fabric cape.

I'm hoping the single Wonder Woman figure was an effort to get all the original mego figures out this year in one format or the other.

If there is a Superman wave in December with Mxy and Supergirl and Clark and the first Fist Fighters wave makes it this year, all the original megoes FTC has the license to would be out.

That would open the door to an all original waves, including Wonder Woman, in the future.

Although the Alfred head is a bit big, the sculpt is a very nice interpretation of Alfred from the comics. The Costume is great, on par with the excellent 66 Joker costume.

I'd love to see a new version of Wonder Woman, one or more steps beyond Doc Mego's very nice Mattel version, in the future. Col Trevor, Diana Prince, Chetah, Dr. psyco, Circe, Hades, Silver Swan and on and on.

I'd also love to see Green Lantern, Flash, Hawkman make it this year as was mentioned earlier this year.

I hadn't thought about this until just now, i wonder if the Alfred head being a little big is a conscious effort to make him look weak. If the mego-ish body is suppose to make superman/batman look heroic, wouldn't it make Alfred look muscular and 'heroic' as well, unless his head is a little bigger making his body appear smaller? Kind of an illusion. I doubt it, but its possible.

                  Ovenmitt -

Love your comment that if they made a Lynda Carter and Christopher Reeve figure you'd never ask for another toy.

                  - Where'd did you reach about the Yvonne Craig Batgirl? I read an announcement that they made a deal with her but I haven't heard anything else since.

I think the baggier clothes would hide the body's musculature.

                      MeWantMegos,

FTC has not officially announced an Yvonne Craig Batgirl figure, but back on Feb. 1, 2014 FTC Anthony Balasco said Craig Batgirl HEAD had been sculpted in Scott Beatty FTC interview! That;s where other FTC figures I mentioned were 1st announced!

I know it's unlikely, but I'd love to see them fill out the 70's Justice League roster. Firestorm, Red Tornado, Elongated Man, Black Canary, Phantom Stranger, maybe even reservists types like Zatanna and Metamorpho are figures I always wished Mego would make (in addition to the glaring absences of Green Lantern, Flash, and Hawkman). They were DC's premiere team of the Mego era, and having a classic Mego style team just seems appropriate.

IMO it will all come down to sales. FTC has flatly said that as long as sales support it, they will keep making figures. And the CEO has said he is committed to bringing new figures to the market that Mego didn't make.

So the dots connect themselves, as long as we keep buying the figures, we'll keep getting more characters.

This is what i like to read. A simple " buy it and we'll make more" response from the person in charge. I'm truly hoping this Mego-verse DC gets as thorough and expansive as possible. I'm a little more nervous about Marvels future with Diamond. I get the weird feeling, just speculating here, I'm certainly not "in the know", that success or not with that line, it wont get very deep. I'll probably still jump in on it, i just don't have my hopes up for decent sized roster when all is said and done. At least with FTC ,they seem to be willing to tackle anything in DCs cannon as long as we're buying. With the recent sucess of wave 3 and the quick pre sellouts on Wonder Woman, i would say our chances of expansion are very good. This is an exciting time to be a Mego fan.

I think the price point for the Diamond Marvel figures is going to be terribly limiting. 70 bucks for a figure with three outfits and only one body is going to be a hard sell to some folks. I'll be getting them, but I have a box full of old Mego bodies to tap into and am basically getting three figures out of it for the price. I honestly doubt we'll even see the full roster from the Mego line (I expect the Avengers members will likely get made, if the line lasts long enough. I'm doubtful of getting into the Fantastic Four or anyone Mego didn't make). I think FTC has hit a good price point for a run of specialty figures like this, and the way they are offering them is more appealing. I can get three full figures for about the same price as one figure with three outfits. I think we're seeing part of the reason why Captain Action didn't last too long, and then Mego came along and ruled the toy aisle.

I think once they get to more figures that Mego never released, they will really start selling strong. At least that is my hope. If they stick to popular characters that were never done in this format, and improved characters with new head sculpts, I think they will do GREAT!

I have an Alfred on the way and really looking forward to Commissioner Gordon and Ras Al Guel!
