The sculpts don't bother me either--yet. But if they can't nail Julie Newmar it will break my heart. They nailed the Romero Joker sculpt so that shows they can give us great likenesses.
As I've said before I actually like Robin's headsculpt because it's generic enough to serve as a "default Robin" on the shelf. If it had come on a Titans body I would have definitely bought one, and I still might buy one--I'm just concerned that the tights won't fit well on a shorter body type. It would be nice if the tights were removable but they look like they're sewn to the trunks.

To be honest, the sculpts don't even bother me anymore. This is Mego, they look Mego. Sure I would have LOVED for them to be miniature Hot Toys, but these are good enough. I HOPE the rest of the line gets handled the same way in quality and detail. I'm more then excited for the Accessory Pack. That'll be the cherry on this already wonderful sundae. If you're on the fence, jump quick.Leave a comment:

I've been such a hard critic of FTC's work that I just shut up and stopped complaining.
Having that said, they stepped up and as hard as I wanted to critique these four figures - I could not.
The new glove/boot design was great.
Batman has wire in his cape to position it.
The bodies don't seem as tightly strung, but we didn't disassemble any to find out (but will, cuz when I get money to buy mine, they are going on Type-S bodies).
Most importantly, none of them were broke right out of the box and took some mild abuse without breaking.
Joker is hands down the best in my humble opinion.
If Wave 1 of the retro-Batman line has sold out and been retired, this line will sell out in half the time, so folks you probably ought to move fast.Leave a comment:

WOW, thanks for posting these great photos. My only quibble is the dark lipstick look, but other than that I like what I see here. Great to hear CTVT/Figures may have FINALLY corrected their body problems.

Well, to be completely honest with you guys and gals, I didn't have the highest hopes of these figures given CTVT's reputation. My opinion of CTVT has completely changed after handling these figures. The quality, of my figures at least, were AMAZING. Sure some head sculpts may be off, but I believe the quality of the bodies and suits certainly make up for it.
This wave of figures has really made me hopeful that CTVT has turned their game around. I told myself I wouldn't, but, I will be buying every 66 Mego there is. This has been a dream for people for a long time. Having a 66 line of Megos that was factory produced. I am more then satisfied with these. Obviously we can tell which ones are the weak link in this first wave, but I'm just happy to have them.
Enjoy some pictures:
This is a shot of the glove inside.
Here's the boot.
Found the Phantom's socks
I will have to say I'm most impressed with Robin. The detail and quality that was put into his outfit is amazing.
Welp, can't say too much as I'm still at a loss of words towards these figures. ALSO A BIG POINT TO ADDRESS, both my father and I handled these figures and none of them have broken joints, even after posing. These are the best bodies they've produced and in my eyes, the best figures.
ALSO, the Batman "hand and foot" setup is the same for Robin.
Well played CTVT.Last edited by Legend of Link; May 7, '14, 4:23 PM.Tags: None
