I suspected that Figures got the '66 Batman because that is a new category outside of Mattel's master
license since the rights to the TV series was settled after Mattel signed their contract with Warner Bros.
Mattel is doing 12 inch and 6 inch TV Batman as well as continuing Batmobiles, Batboat, etc.

There is going to be a LOT of Batman TV merch in a few months. It was be like the last Star Trek movie
where Playmates did 3 3/4", 6 inch, 9 inch, and 12 inch. A lot of it sat on the shelves at Toys R Us.
I hope some of '66 products are delivered in waves so fans are not overwhelmed at retail.

I hope so too Doc. But I do not think that they will.

Thankfully this has nothing to do with Mattel. I like Mattel, but their constant mismanagement and insane quotas have destroyed far too many good toy lines. I'm pleased with how WB is optioning out the 66 line to so many different people. Whether this is an official or unofficial 66 line, either way, it's a great time to be a Bat fan. I look forward to what CTVT will do, though like Doc Mego, I do hope that the market doesn't become too saturated with this stuff.

I have a sneaking suspicion, that a lot of it will due just fine, though. CTVT has really milked the Kiss license for all it's worth, I can just imagine them doing amazing things with Batman. 66 or otherwise.

I started doing some price checking last night and interestingly the DC Retro Action line seems have picked up in prices. This is not true for every character, but a spot check on many like the Flash and Batman showed a healthy afterlife. It always amazes me how these figures can warm pegboards at a retail price, but fetch considerably more once they're gone. I guess accessibility, or the lack thereof, governs interest more than we like to admit.

RA Waves 1-3 certainly jumped. I think Sinestro is the only one that's remained soft. Even Luthor had a tick upward.

The Retro Action figures really didn't warm pegs - the distribution was sabotaged,
and the inventory was dumped to wholesalers. Now demand is driving the prices
way up - and at the same time - making the case that these are popular figures.

But that's a discussion for another day.

Paul that has to be a rewarding feeling, if not somewhat bittersweet. But like I said many times before, we've got some serious fixes to the legendary Mego 'gaps'. Flash and Green Lantern now live!

I'm still trying to figure out how Wave 2 went to closeouts like TJ Max, while I found one Wave 3 figure, Wonder Woman, at a TRU almost the same month - and have never seen a Wave 4 in the wild.

Dr. Mego perhaps you can contact Figures. Inc and offer your services, it would be awesome to see your input on some their products. In any case, you hinted you were working on some other projects. I can not wait for the reveal. Are you working on some new lines, or creating new additions to existing lines?

True, I am trying to go back and get them and I've seen the prices even go up in the last 6 months. I might have bought them when they came out but I never saw any of them at the store except 1 Lex Luthor. I got into these well after they had been cancelled but had I seen more of them of the shelf at TRU I would have bought them then had I known about them.

I only saw Wave 1 and a few Two-Faces from Wave 2 at retail. Luckily I ordered my figures from EE, or I'd still be looking for many of them. Mattel and TRU REALLY screwed this line.
