I saw the Batgirl at ToysRUs. She's nice, but I already have the previous one. I don't know if I want to pay $40 for a character I already have.

I had the exact same thought this week...BG looked nice but I already have two of the others, standard and the one with the Batcycle. And if I recall, the Batcycle one was still cheaper than this new version for $40.00.Think OUTSIDE the Box! For the BEST in Repro & Custom Packaging! -

We saw BG this weekend, but Cindy has one on the way from Barbie Collectibles, so we passed. She looked nice. Given that it bridges our two collections, it's a must have for us.

She's not the only one. A Christian group is protesting it, and apparently Wal-Mart is considering bailing on it as a shared exclusive. Canary may only be available at Barbie Collectibles.I wanted to get the Black Canary for my daughter but my wife has issues with her appearance....

Cindy got her Batgirl in yesterday, oddly enough, and I think it looks really nice. Looks like Alex Ross' treatment of the character. All black bodysuit, cowl and cape, save for the inner lining, which is gold. This time they gave her yellow hands and glove cuffs, so no clunky "mittens". Packaging is nice, and the info on the back details the original, Silver Age origin of Batgirl.
