^^^My understanding is these will be made from the original molds. I don't remember having any issues with my Cro-Magnon Man, but that doesn't mean he didn't have any.
^^I'm on board for the dinosaurs too! The only two dinos I had as a kid were the Allosaurus & the Flying Reptile. I also had the Cro-Magnon Man & Woman, the Neanderthal Man, the Cave, the Tar Pit, and the Saber Tooth Tiger. The Allosaurus was my fave and was often the means of transportation for the Cro-Magnon Man to get through the swamp to rescue his woman from the Neanderthal Man (or sometimes from the evil clutches of Dr. Deadly & Frankenstein).
^We had a lot of fun with them back in the day. I had some of these before I got my first Mego figure.
I have a Mego Lost Continent and want some Aurora reissues to accompany it and replace the OMBC Mego dinos. Some kits have been reissued many times but are still pricey and not always in a color I want.
WANTED: Dick Grayson SI trousers; gray AJ Mustang horse; vintage RC Batman (Bruce Wayne) head; minty Wolfman tights; mint Black Knight sword; minty Launcelot boots; Lion Rock (pale) Dracula & Mummy heads; Lion Rock Franky squared boots; Wayne Foundation blue furniture; Flash Gordon/Ming (10") unbroken holsters; CHiPs gloved arms; POTA T2 tan body; CTVT/vintage Friar Tuck robes, BBP TZ Burgess Meredith glasses.
I just remembered seeing some of these re-released under the (I think) Aurora name with different packaging. I want to say very late 90's or very early 00's. Around the same time the reissued Planet of the Apes models were on the shelves, along with Superman, Batman & Robin too. Long forgotten, thanks for sparking that memory!
THey've had a number of re-releases over the years, but there's a lot of the models that never got a second chance. I still have a lot of mine from when I was a kid, though I had to pick up some replacement kits and pieces for broken/lost parts. I wonder if they will go the distance and do the T-Rex, the crowning glory of the line. I'd love it if they added a few dinos like a Pachycephalosaurus or a Plateosaurus, two of my favorites that would fit nicely in the line. Never saw anything about unproduced PS kits as I have with the Monster Scenes. And, yes, I used them a lot with my Megos; the scale is good enough, a tad small for accuracy, but they look good together. Edit: Looks like they already did the T-Rex.
