My latest model...THE FLY from Monarch!

I was given the honor of building and painting the first test shot of Monarch Model's upcoming release of THE FLY, a 1/8 scale styrene kit in the style of Aurora.

The buildup will be featured in the kit's instruction sheet as well as Monarch's website and all other advertising and promotion.
It was a true labor of love bringing this very underrated movie monster to life!

I thought Monarch had folded, but I suppose I was thinking of Moebius.

This is a superb build of a well-designed kit full of Easter-eggs. Kudos to the sculptor for getting proper make-up details in there and not resorting to Return of the Fly elements. (I like the Guinea pig, though!) You've done a great job, D.

An additional background wall of the distinctive neon computer-banks would have been a great option.
WANTED: Dick Grayson SI trousers; gray AJ Mustang horse; vintage RC Batman (Bruce Wayne) head; minty Wolfman tights; mint Black Knight sword; minty Launcelot boots; Lion Rock (pale) Dracula & Mummy heads; Lion Rock Franky squared boots; Wayne Foundation blue furniture; Flash Gordon/Ming (10") unbroken holsters; CHiPs gloved arms; POTA T2 tan body; CTVT/vintage Friar Tuck robes, BBP TZ Burgess Meredith glasses.

      Congrats, that looks awesome.
You are a bold and courageous person, afraid of nothing. High on a hill top near your home, there stands a dilapidated old mansion. Some say the place is haunted, but you don't believe in such myths. One dark and stormy night, a light appears in the topmost window in the tower of the old house. You decide to investigate... and you never return...

              Terrific work!

If it is not too gauche to ask... does Monarch pay you for that work? Or do you get a free model?

Thank you for pointing this out! Highly rewarding to click for the full-size images, not only to appreciate the usual masterful paints, but the clever details one might not notice at first glance. Cheers to Dwayne, well done!

Thanks! I get LOTS of free models! Prototypes, test shots in crazy colors, etc. actual boxed kit once they're released. Plus I get to keep this one.

Cool! Between your talent for painting and for photography, they found the right man for the job. But I am sure this must have taken an awful lot of your time, so I am glad that you got stuff in return that you are excited about.
