Gi Joe O-Ring and Retro reviews.

First the Hasbro Pulse Snake Eyes and Storm Shadow 2 pack

    oringgijoe.JPG

The plastic feels really good. Excellent quality. Not the terrible brittle plastic from the comic packs. The Plastic has a more matte less shiny look than vintage. The new O-Rings feel nice and springy and the figures hold poses well.

The figures are from new molds with updated markings. The back pegs and backpacks are not compatible with vintage figures. The hole is slightly smaller. The extra accessories and stands are not on the cards and are packed in the bottom section of the outer cardboard box. Don't accidently miss them. The backing cards have the vintage art on the front but the card stock is the super thin modern card used on the Walmart retros. The file cards on the back have multiple languages.

This is the first time Snake Eyes V1 has had the correct pelvis since the original release. It is the swivel arm version with the smaller "H" belt buckle pelvis. Extra accessories included are the gun, sword and backpack from Snake Eyes V3 and two extra V1 guns.

Storm Shadow V1 comes with all his original accessories and one extra nunchuck. It's awesome to see a V1 Storm Shadow that is not yellowed with age.

Some say the place is haunted, but you don't believe in such myths. One dark and stormy night, a light appears in the topmost window in the tower of the old house. You decide to investigate... and you never return...

    Super7 Reaction Gi Joes

    Cobra Commander

Super7 really gets the 3 3/4 inch Kenner retro style and it's nice to finally have Sunbow figures. These are in true vintage 3 3/4 inch scale. Not the 4 inch scale of 25th anniversary modern era Gi Joes.

New retro inspired card art on heavy card stock with full vintage style file cards on the back.

Reaction Mass Device blue Baroness and Destro.

The Reaction figures kinda fit in some vintage/25th vehicles. They obviously can't use vehicles like the Ram cycle and their foot pegs aren't the same.

Reaction Mass Device Snake Eyes and Scarlett

        reactiongijoe3.JPG

My Scarlett holds her crossbow very loosely. She is the only figure I've gotten so far that has had this issue. Other than that, the paint on these has been clean and the overall quality has been very good.

Man, those all look really nice. They are very tempting, but there is SOOO much deeply nostalgic stuff out there right now, I'm having a hard time keeping up with it all. And in no way could I afford to actually collect it. So many hard choices to make. An embarassment of riches to be sure. When they get to S7 Retro Duke, I'll probably have to pull the trigger on that one.

^Ooh, yeah. Zartan was actually the first RAH I bought. I wasn't much of an "army guy", so it took Zartan and the first mini-series to win me over. Then I got Duke and Blowtorch, and never looked back.

I've only ever collected 12" RAH, but I have a soft spot for the master of disguise and have a few versions.

I was never into army toys either. I just really liked the cartoon. It was fun sci-fi fantasy adventure.

Wow! I like those ReAction figures way more than I thought I would. The chrome helmet on Cobra Commander is perfect! Thanks for posting Werewolf!
