It’s unlikely this will be 1/100th the quality of the 2K12 TMNT though. Few things are.Leave a comment:

I felt the same way about the 2012 Ninja Turtles show too, shunned it for years... finally I gave it a shot and now I prefer it over the 80s show.
This MOTU will be a new look for a new generation. We'll always have OUR He-man.Leave a comment:

I really hope the new CG show gets the kids into He-man. It basically follows the same formula as the 80s show, just flashier and more fast paced.Leave a comment:

i'm sure that one will appeal to the young kids of today. i do not like the animation style at all. or the silliness aspect of what they showedLeave a comment:

Watched the first five episodes.
I won't post any spoilers, but yes, Teela is the primary focus for the majority of this series so far.Leave a comment:

Excited to watch after work. Only wish the original voice actors still around were doing the voices. (Yes, I know A.O. is doing Moss Man's voice rather than Skeletor.)
To me, the voices are everything and as important as the nostalgia and fame of whatever brand. There is only one Shaggy, one Optimus Prime, and Cobra Commander etc. When a voice actor passes or is no longer capable to do the voices then I get a recast...do you understand that, Michael Bay, when you recast the role of Megatron?Leave a comment:

And then there's the rumor of Orko getting killed off. I'm starting to think this will be a one and done series.I hope it's good but my feeling is it's going to really bad. I think the designs will start out more classic and then get radically changed judging from the pics of Teela they've shown. It also sounds pretty dark from what they've revealed. Sounds like Adam loses the power sword and He-Man's secret identity is revealed hurting those not in on the secret, like Teela. Everything goes to hell and most of the story is Teela and her band of grim dark rebels trying to regain the power sword from god Skeletor. Hardly the continuation to the Filmation series fans have been hoping for.Leave a comment:

I'd like to see him, too in the Origins line. I saw a fantastic MOTU Classics custom. I wonder who holds Olmec Toys rights?Leave a comment:

I found all four at Walmart last week and i looks like it will be a nifty line. I saw "Sun-Man" as a rumored name on a future listing. That would be pretty cool if it came to pass.Leave a comment:

The same Series Bible, but revised by the original author (depending on how you measure time, significantly long or not significantly long) after the MOTU toyline had already started, because of the need to integrate Filmation's input to that bible to appeal to the widest most consumer-family-friendly demographic via a television show because distributors said that a comic alone would not cut it---what if kids couldn't read!!!!.
At Mattel's desire, the initial December 1 1982 bible had to include the MOTU mini-comics lore to a certain extent that Filmation would aid in curbing/changing for their particular series bible.... as well having to include the DC comics MOTU lore (debuting in July 1982) to a certain extent that Filmation would do the same reworking.
Orko is a prime example of Filmation's input transcending "curbing/changing" --- it was creating an entirely new character in Filmation style, lock stock and barrel (so to speak).
Again, nothing wrong with that... and I wouldn't change it for the world...as you've essentially said it defines the most famillair aspects of the MOTU franchise.
And with that in mind... that is where the different POVs come into play... Out of nostalgia, I favor the pre-Filmation/DC era over Filmation (the DC era of which I'm hazy, resulting in my lack of Adam/Cringer knowledge) ... and you favor the Filmation era ....
All good. No one's preference is more right or wrong objectively... it's all subjective. I want to avoid a toxic "fan forum" feel here... most sincerely.
The more "slapstick" (for lack of being able to come up with a better term) comedy element is one of the major differences that Filmation has over the first couple waves of the mini-comics era (made without using Halperin's backstory, but then incorporated into Halperin's initial series bible pre-Filmation).
And, what's it been... like almost 40 years since all this went down?
Many different iterations of MOTU in TV and that '87 movie (plus all the comics, etc.) have been presented--- none even coming close to Filmation's success (except maybe Netflix's She-Ra ATPOP?)...
Now Revelations.
I'm optimistic... although I can see why you see it in a less hopeful way. And for reasonable reason, as I don't think anyone at a major studio will invest in getting close to that Filmation tone.
Although how about the "Return Of Faker" Eatock piece, eh? I never really watched it (is all of it even out yet?) But you must enjoy something in that style.
Personally, I'm hoping for something that's a mix of today's obligatory stuff (Castlevania, etc.) with MOTU 200x/MYP and the dramatic tone of the DCAU TimmVerse thrown in (Kevin Smith seems to be a big fan of that franchise).
Again, Good Journey! (This post deserves that sign-off even more than the one before)

It's the same December 1 1982 Story bible that Filmation used in 1983. The story bible was developed to create one cohesive story to use across merchandising, licensing and the development of the cartoon.Leave a comment:
