they're pretty good with "mark downs/clearance" prices though aren't they?

Meaning---it may not be as bad as it seems if they mark em down pretty quick

High Oil Prices equals high plastic prices.

Part of the reason why action figures shrunk in the late 70's.
Too many toys. Not enough space!

How dare they raise prices when their costs go up!

That price is about half what we pay in Australia, and our dollar is worth about the same so I'd say you've still got bargain basement toys.

Enjoy it while you can I say!

                Cheers,

I dont know if I would say that. This time it is real. In the 70's oil was less than $28 an barrel. Now it is about $140. Infact, 8 years ago oil was $28 a barrel and now it is about $140.

Just used the inflation calculator to convert 1970 dollar to 2008 vlauehttp://www.buyupside.com/calculators...powerjan08.htm
and that 28.00 barrel of oil converts to $151.00 in 2008 dollars.

Considering the US dollar has plumeted beyond belief, I would say that conversion is flawed. I was just reading how the euro has replaced the dollar as the international currency of choice. Either way, 8yr ago I was paying $1.00-$1.20 a gallon for gas. In 8 years it has gone up $3.00. I dont need a chart to know that is a 300% increase. So why did gas between 1979 and 1999 remain almost the same cost? That is what I want to know.

Without turning political, we were producing and drilling for more domestic oil during the 70's and 80's. Its also been 30 yrs since a new refinery was built in the US.
