What will our kids collect when they are adults?

I have been wondering what will feel nostalgic to them and items that they will pay premium prices for as we do with Megos today.

If I were to take a guess, I think video games will be popular. Old gaming systems like Nintendo 64, Playstation, GameCube and if you have the original boxes and instructions all the better.

Pokemon cards will probably be big.

Thomas the tank engine are already collectible and I imagine will be big.

    Maybe early iPods

My kids never played much with Action Figures as much as I tried to share the experience but the items above were big for them.

What else do you think today's kids will crave to reacquire when they become adults and their childhood toys were sold off in yard sales and they now want them back for their own nostalgic reasons?

It was my fault ever since i have bought my daughter her 1st Playmobil item, she seems to can't enough of it so i am hopeing she will keep this stuff,as she has kept her Betti Spagetti stuff and Barbie dolls.

I think boys will collect some action figures aswell as electronic stuff, girls maybe?Their dolls when they were young and stuffed toys.

She aint having my collection thats Daddy's although she has nabbed alot of my hot wheels cars

I've given this question a lot of thought.

              Here's a few I came up with:

              1. Harry Potter action figures and playsets. They already bring decent money on ebay.

              2. Lord of the Rings Action Figures. The 12" line was particularly good and there's a ton of it out there.

              3. Something Japanese. Maybe Ben 10 action figures or Possibly Dragonball Z.

I dont have kids, but from what I see a lot of them are all very trend and gadget oriented. I have a feeling they wont feel nostalgic for anything. They will continue to be the "consumers" of whats new...the next big thing.....that they are now.
Hope I'm wrong....like I said, this is definately an outside looking in observation.

Bratz will be one, it has tons of little bits and accessories that will be htf ala Gi Joe or Barbie.

I'd say if my guys collect anything, it will be Transformers, Ben 10 and Pokemon. They do love the superheroes and so on but I think theses will be the ones that stick. Transformers and Pokemon being their favorites.

My son will be hunting up Lego mini-figures, I can pretty much promise that. He's been into it pretty heavy for a couple years now and I can imagine with all those little pieces that come apart they will be interesting to collect in another 20 years.
