DC Super Friends Imaginext sets are out

I've been meaning to post this, but I wanted some photos to go with it, and I'm lazy. On our way back from Wheeling and Mego Meet, we stopped by a nearby TRU. Lo and behold, there was all you see here minus the Penguin set. And since Andrew had some Kindergarten graduation money, he got it all. Fun stuff, although Robin has no cape(!) and the Batcave did not come with any instructions or catalog, which seems really odd for such a massive playset.

Like all the imaginext stuff, tons of play value. I've enjoyed playing with it myself!

Oh and the figures are roughly the same size as the Marvel Super Hero Squad figures, although these are more articualted with shoulders, hips and some head movement.

Thanks to our own tomztoyz great Bat-Blog for the scan! This way, I didn't have to photograph them myself!

So these are smaller than the regular Super Friends guys?

Pretty neat. I have lots of shopping to do for Jonah.

      Scott,

Yes, they are about 2 inches tall or so. If you've seen the Star Wars Galactic Heroes, Indy Adventure Heroes, etc, they are about the same size, but less "squat" than those.

I saw them here at our TRU last week. Very cute. They had all of them although the one Superman set was missing Krypto. I want to get them but don't want to get the Batcave playset just to get Robin, so I passed on them.

Not to highjack the thread Chris but according to that Bat-blog there is a SDCC exclusive Hot Wheels 1/50th 1966 TV Batgirl cycle?? First I heard about that.

We also stopped at ToysRUs on the way out of Wheeling and I grabbed a Batman, Batcopter & Penguin for my son. I suspect that Santa will be bringing him the other pieces if I don't end up getting them for him first.

I bought a ton of the Imaginext stuff for my niece and it is good stuff. She would play for hours and I think it all wound up in the tub from time-to-time.

Wish they would have had this a few years ago because she would think it is "baby stuff" now.

I picked a Superman up about two weeks ago. Pretty neat! I think the proportion works a lot better... the regular Superfriends are too big and goofy. These are just little and goofy, perfect scale for playsets and vehicles. I just wish Superman were popular enough that Mattel would make a Fortress of Solitude. Even a Hall of Justice would be awesome.

I haven't found the Superman or Penguin figures yet. Looking forward to getting them for Andrew though.

If the line does well, it wouldn't surprise me to see the Batcave recast in white for a store exclusive "Fortress of Solitude".

i saw them but they are odd for me. Kinda like the re-release of the weebles. good idea but just a re-hash
Not really following you there. To my knowledge, there have never been DC figures like this before, so I don't know what they'd be rehashing. It's the same characters in a totally new format/market.

Wow, lighten up Francis. You think maybe the toy companies are trying to make some little kid friendly stuff? You really don't have to go into mourning over it.

And wouldn't ya say that the character choice---that it's a good way for
the youngest kids to bond with older kids---and even their parents
                              who love those characters?
