i finally found the time to break open that millenium falcon and would like to share it with you all

here's the egg crate like inner packaging. i put a riddler next to it for some size comparison




here's a shot of my childhood falcon next to the newly tooled falcon, notice the huge size comparison!

i especially like the fact that the cockpit lights up and can fit 4 figures instead of two



another shot of the interior. more detailed and includes a light up dejarik table, storage closet, false floor panels, and much more!



the new ship also features several electronic sounds and phrases spoken by the main hero characters from star wars. the front ramp with a push of a button, comes down on it's own. the main thing that i didnt like about the ship are the landing gears. i prefer the old one where they just fold in. the new ones have to be physically removed or put back on. all 6 of them.

overall, i think they did a great job with it!!

forgot to add pics of the fighter /escape pod. the part opposite the cargo ramp on the other side of the ship, flips open and when the escape pod is removed or put back in, it also makes sound. the pod fits one figure and has retractible side guns and shooting missile.

The size of the thing is much more intimidating than the cost - I didn't know that until after I got it home and put it together. Even looking at Starsky's pics does NOT do justice to how massive this thing is once it's sitting in your living room.

I knew it was coming so it was a "planned purchase," but I did not plan for the thing to take up the bed in the guest room.

Very cool pics,.. & thanks for Sharing. So,.. I got the Chewbacca figure from a While back,.. then one that came with the Chess Table with the little characters on it.... Can you switch that one out with this one ? That would Rule.

the chess table actually comes with little translucent characters which can be placed on the table. the table also lights up!!

yeah it's huge!! did you have a hard time figuring out how the landing gears fit? mine kept popping off. i wasnt sure if i did them correctly. i wish they were retractible like the old school falcon!

Price Drop

Most people in the market for one of these may already know this but Wal-Mart has these on sale now for $99.99. Odds are there will probably be another price drop right before or shorty after Christmas but $99.99 is still a great price.
