The New Teen Titans Wave 2 figures came out!

I've been waiting for these for months and when I saw them at the NYCC behind glass, it felt like torture! A few finally showed up in their packaging on ebay and I must say I'm quite pleased. I LOVE the comic book art and the color scheme on the packaging! Even though I've had these on pre-order for months and they're most likely on their way here, I'm going to my comic shop to check out if they have a few for me to snag!

Wow, that packaging has a certain Mego feel to it. The blue (like Mego's TT) the comic art background, and most importantly the little round vignettes!

I'm getting that Robin. I haven't bought a 6" DCD in months, but I'm all over that one!

Yeah I didn't notice that! You're right, that packaging does have a Mego feel. All the more reason to love it.
And I'm getting the whole series, but I know I'm going to have to get multiple Robins as I love that sculpt!

WOW! That packaging and those figures rock! Makes ya wish they had started the series with these instead of the one with that new "Brother Blood". Speaking of which, if these sell well, I'd love to see another Perez all-villain wave of the real Brother Blood, Mammoth, Madame Rouge and Plasmus.

Yeah, those Contemporary Teen Titans figures can't hold a candle to these babies! And I definitely think these will sell well. They're in scale with other Titans figures so that's an excellent selling factor. :D Also, I agree with the villain line. That would be so cool!

The splotches of blue in Robins hair is a bit much, but I've been waiting LONG for a decent looking Robin for my shelf. Wish they'd update redo the Kid Flash just a bit ~ Wally was my favorite, but it's hard to present a kid speedster with little relative articulation and disappointing paintjob (compared to the others in the line....).

I agree on both accounts. I understand that the paint was to try and make Robin look like the comic (in where he had blue highlights) but they overkilled the color too much. Though it's not too big of a problem as someone has stated they fixed theirs with a sharpie.

And you're right about Kid Flash. He needs to be redone. I have one on my shelf and although he looks cool in that running stance on his base, his paint job is so flat looking (especially the yellow) compared to the action figures being released today. Plus his body sculpt is so stiff when you stand him up straight. He definitely needs a redo. Hopefully he gets his chance in one of the NTT waves.

I would have liked some of these even better if they were closer to Mego scale in size.

I actually prefer them not to be in mego scale because even though as cool as that might be, I rather have them match all of my other DCD Titans figures so I can set them up in a nice looking display. So far, TNTT scale is excellent compared to the other Titans figures, even the first appearance Nightwing.

But if you're looking for some mego sized NTT, you could always buy these figures to use for some head enlarging and attempt a custom. That would be awesome. I'm considering doing that myself with a Robin. I could use a Perez styled Robin on my New Teen Titans shelf of Megos.

Those NTT figures look great! They were solicited just as I stopped collecting DC Direct figures. I did pre-order Robin because that Perez-look is way too cool.

Hmm. That reminds me, I pre-ordered the New Gods and Showcase Presents figures. I wonder when they're coming...

I just got my Robin yesterday, and he's one of my new favorite DCD figures. I will probably pass on the unmasked Deathstroke for now, unless I find him cheap at a con. But I'm so psyched about getting a nice Terra and Jericho, I could do the happy dance!
I talked to my LCBS owner about the New Gods figures. He's really ticked. Apparently the Mister Miracle is short-packed in cases. No idea why, since anyone who wants any of these is going to want him, Darkseid, and Orion. Lightray is probably less in demand, so why not put less of him in the box than everyone else? So to get enough Miracle figures for everyone who wanted them, he had to order extras and probably get stuck with spare Lightrays. As he checked the order info, he said that at one time, you could just order single figures from that wave in order to get extas, but that option had already disappeared. We were able to order a whole set, which is lucky. If I couldn't have Mister Miracle, it would have lessened my enthusiasm to get other waves down the line, like the upcoming Big Barda.

Got my case the other day and all I can say is WOW!!! This says wave 2...my question is wave 1 the same as wave 2 : George Perez likeness' to the figures?? I have some of the early DC Directs but just couldn't keep up with the releases. I have a Starfire...but don't know if that was part of wave 1. Anyone know??? Thanks.
